SCHLATTER, AIA /AIP, Manager 206 -344 -5222 In reference to condition #2 specified as a part of the above referenced permit, we have met with the project design consul- tant; Wilsey & Ham, Inc., and received the attached updated plan for the on -site storm sewer system in relation to the retention pond. All surface drainage on the site will be channeled to the lift station. well. Unless the lake is below a specified level, all surface run -off will normally be diverted directly from the lift station well to the wet well and from there to the Green River. During periods of excessive storm run -off beyond the capacity of the pumping system and gravity culvert to divert to the Green River,'the retention pond will receive excess storm run -off water, such water gradu- ally draining back to the lift station well by way of the same culvert by which it was initially diverted to the retention pond. As such, any storm water entering the retention pond will generally remain there for a period of time before flowing out. During periods of time when the retention pond is unseasonally low, storm water will enter the pond by gravity until such time as it reaches its normal level. All portions of the site which will be recontoured during phase I of the project, will be hydro- seeded to ieduce the potential for erosion problems. We shall presume that the proposed storm drain system satisfies the concerns which motivated the second condition attached to the substantial development permit unless we receive notice to the contrary. The storm system has been redesigned so that all water entering the pond from the south passes through a siltation basin (in the catch basin) before it enters the pond. The system is designed to allow settling before water enters the pond and to maintain a constant water level in the pond. When the pond water elevation reaches nine (9) the water will flow to the river. It is true that during a storm all silt will not settle out in the catch basins, however, all water goes through a series of catch basins before it enters the river. This is the system used in current construction practices accepted by Tukwila. engineering • planning • surveying • landscape architecture • mapping • systems MAY 2374 if. . $dti.N« D. N1.fm _ • J.
