Mr. Gary Kucinski
Planning Director
City of Tukwila
6230 Southcenter Blvd.
Tukwila, Washington 98067
Dear Mr. Kucinski:
Transmitted herewith are four copies of an application for a Shoreline Manage-
ment Substantial Development Permit for the proposed Cal -Ore Machinery Company,
Division of Dravo Equipment Company, development on SR -181. Included with the
application forms are 4 prints each of a vicinity map and site map for the
proposed work.
Also transmitted herewith are four copies of an Environmental Assessment
summary on water quality for the site.
In conformance with the criteria set by the King County Flood Control Division,
the pavement elevation (29.0) along the river bank has been set two feet above
the maximum water stage in the river, and the pavement provides a 20 foot open
area for river bank maintenance. The edge of the pavement provides for a
possible future regrading and rocking of the slope at a maximum 2:1 slope.
All surface drainage on the site (except the wash rack) will be collected in
an existing 18 inch culvert along SR -181, through catch basin structures.
Waste water from the wash rack and shop drains will be passed through a grit
chamber and oil separator, meeting the requirements of Metro, prior to disposal
into the sanitary sewer.
It is our understanding that the site is presently zoned M -1 and that no
rezoning or variences will be required.
If you have any questions or would like to discuss this plan and application
in more detail, please call me at your earliest convenience.
Very truly yours,
WILSEY & H91 INC.
