TUKWILA BUILDING PERMIT NUMBER S-51-/c .
1. No changes will be made to plans unless approved by Architect and
Tukwila Building Department.
2. Plumbing permit to be obtained through King County Health Department
and plumbing will be inspected by that agency (including all gas
piping).
3. Electrical work to be inspected by State Electrical Inspectors and all
required electrical permits obtained through that agency.
4. All mechanical work to be under separate permit.
5. All permits to be posted at job site prior to start of any construc-
tion.
6. Any new ceiling grid and light fixture installation to meet
lateral bracing requirements for Seismic Zone 3.
7. Partition walls attached to ceiling grid must be laterally braced
if over eight (8) feet in length.
8. New access doors at building corridor shall be a tight - fitting smoke
and draft control assembly having a fire protection rating of not less
than 20 minutes. The door and frame shall bear and approved label
showing the rating thereof. Doors shall be maintained self - closing and
shall be installed with smoke gaskets, so installed to provide s seal
where the door meets the stop on both sides and across the top.
9. Remainder of unleased space, so developed as a result of the "World
Class Consulting Services" tenant improvement, shall be subject to
permit and review under future development, unless exempt under U.B.C.
Sec 301(b).
10. All construction to be done in conformance with approved plans and
requirements of the Uniform Building Code (1985 Edition), Uniform
Mechanical Code (1985 Edition), Washington State Energy Code (1986
Edition), and Washington State Regulations for Barrier Free
Facility (1986 Edition).
11. Approval of plans, specifications and computations shall not be con-
strued to be a permit for or an approval of any violation of the
provisions of this code or of any other ordinance of this jurisdiction.

Dear Sir:
The attached set of building plans have been reviewed by
The Fire Prevention Bureau and are acceptable with the
following oonoerns:
1. The total number of fire extinguishers required for
your establishment is calculated at one extinguisher for
each 3000 sq. ft. of area. The extinguisher(s) should be
of the "All Purpose" (2A, 10 B:O) dry ohemioal type.
Travel distance to any fire extinguisher must be 75' or
less. (NFPA 10, 3-1.1) (UFC 10.301b)
Extinguishers shall be located so as to be in plain
view (if at all possible), or if not in plain view,
they shall be identified with a sign stating, "Fire
Extinguisher," with an arrow pointing to the unit.
(NFPA 10, 1-6.3) (UFO 10'301)
Extinguishers shall be installed on the hangers or in
the brackets supplied, mounted in oabinents, or set on
shelves (NFPA 10, 1-6.6), and shall be installed so
that the top of the extinguisher is not more than 5
ft. above the floor. (NFPA 10, 1-6.6) (UFC 10.301)
2. Exit doors shall be openable from the inside without
the use of a key or any special knowledge or effort. (UFO
12.1O4b)
Exit hardware and marking must meet the requirements
of Uniform Fire Code Sections 12.104 & 12.114.
EXIT signs shall be installed at required exit
doorways and where otherwise necessary to clearly

indicate the direction of egress. Signs shall be of a
contrasting oolor with the surrounding area and shall
have letters not less than six inches high with a
minimum letter width of 3/4 ". (UFC 12.114a & 12.114b)
3. All modifications to sprinkler systems shall have the
written approval of the Washington Surveying & Rating
Bureau, Factory Mutual Engineering or Industrial Risk
Insurers, then by the Fire Department. No sprinkler work
shall commence without approved drawings. (City Ordinance
#1141) (NFPA 13, 1 -9.1) (UFC 10.307)
All sprinkler drawings shall be prepared by companies
licensed to perform this type of work. Drawings shall
first be approved by the Washington Surveying & Rating
Bureau, Factory Mutual Engineering or Industrial Risk
Insurers, then by the Tukwila Fire Department. No
sprinkler work shall oommence without approved
drawings. (City Ordinance #1141 & NFPA 13, 1 -9.1)

Maintain sprinkler protection for all enclosed areas.

Contact the Tukwila Fire Department, Fire Prevention
Bureau to witness all required inspections and tests.

4. All electrical work and equipment shall conform
strictly to the standards of the National Eleotrioal Code.

All electrical wiring is to be inspected by the State
Electrical Inspector, Washington State Department of
Labor & Industries. (UGC 10.104)
5. All required occupanoy separations, area separation
walls, and draft -stop partitions shall be maintained and
shall be properly repaired, restored or replaoed when
damaged, altered, breached, penetrated, removed or

All interior wall covering materials shall be
fire- resistive or shall be treated to be
fire - resistive, so as to result in a flame - spread
rating as required by UPC Appendix VI -C tables 42A and
428. A certificate of the flame spread rating is
required to be delivered to the Tukwila Fire
