Dear Sir: The attached set of building plans have been reviewed by The Fire Prevention Bureau and are acceptable with the following concerns: 1. The total number of fire extinguishers required for your establishment is calculated at one extinguisher for each 3000 sq. ft. of area. The extinguisher(s) should be of the "All Purpose" (2A, 10 B:C) dry chemical type. Travel distance to any fire extinguisher must be 75' or Less. (NFPA 10, 3 -1.1) (UFC 10.301b) Extinguishers shall be installed on the hangers or in the brackets supplied, mounted in cabinents, or set on shelves (NFPA 10, 1 -6.6), and shall be installed so that the top of the extinguisher is not more than 5 ft. above the floor. (NFPA 10, 1 -6.6) (UFC 10.301) Extinguishers shall be located so as to be in plain view (if at all possible), or if not in plain view, they shall be identified with a sign stating, "Fire Extinguisher," with an arrow pointing to the unit. (NFPA 10, 1 -6.3) (UFC 10.301) 2. No point in a sprinklered building may be more than 200 feet from an exit, measured along the path of travel. (UFC 12.113a) Second floor exits which enter the skybridge must be provided with exit doors and locks which (A) swing in the directions of travel and (B) may be opened in the directions of travel without a key or special knowledge. 3. An automatic fire extinguishing (sprinkler) system is required and shall be designed, installed and tested. (City Ordinance #1141) All sprinkler drawings shall be prepared by companies licensed to perform this type of work. Drawings shall first be approved by the Washington Surveying & Rating Bureau, Factory Mutual Engineering or Industrial Risk Insurers, then by the Tukwila Fire Department. No sprinkler work shall commence without approved drawings. (City Ordinance #1141 & NFPA 13, 1 -9.1) (UFC 10.307) All sprinkler systems with more than 100 heads shall be supervised by an approved central, proprietary or remote station service or a local alarm which will give an audible signal at a constantly attended location. Inspect roof mount HVAC screens - remove screens which can not be repaired /repainted; to be replaced with new screens. 9. Remove all HVAC condensers that are mounted on concrete pads at 18. Inspect all existing window sill areas to determine moisture leaking problems, Seal exterior window frames where leaking has occurred and patch interior gypsum wall board. B. HVAC 1. Excavation for sprinkler msins shall be kept to a minimum resulting in repair to damaged walks, new landscape and asphalt pavement repair. 5. Paint exterior of building wood and metal in a color to be selected by Owner, 5. Check all interior and exterior incendescent lights and relamp as need. 6. Replace plastic light and wall angle in soffit lights of toilet rooms with 1/2" plastic and polished chrome finish. Install system, new roof purl ins per details to support new sprinkler suspended ceilings and rehab HVAC distribution system. 1. Repair all ductboard joint with SMACNA approved iron on heat tape. Includes supply and return ductwork. 2. Rehang all ductwork on 2nd floor of buildings to allow ceiling insulation to be applied at the bottom of the roof deck (vapor barrier to be used). Includes medium pressure spiral and low pressure ductboard. Use SMACNA standard hanging procedures. 3. All duct heaters are to be placed in sheet metal sleeves and not installed directly in ductboard. 4. Rehang all duct heater according to SMACNA standards. 5. Inspect and repair all HVAC system components to a completely operational state. 6. Test and report on each system for each building. 7. Repair or replace all faulty duct heaters. 8.
