Meeting held at Tukwila City Hall 12/5/89. 1. The permit set sent to KCBALD was reviewed with the Project Architect by the Tukwila inspection staff. It was noted that the building core as shown on the KCBALD permit set differed from that shown on the Tukwila permit set. Revised plans will be sent to KCBALD to include current revisions. The Tukwila permit set is accurate. 2. Tukwila policy is to issue a Certificate of Occupancy for Tenant Improvements only after receiving a letter of compliance with all permit requirements from the agency inspecting the primary building. Tukwila will not issue a temporary Certificate of Occupancy. For the 9 -08 Office building all KCBALD permit requirements must be complete and a letter must be sent to Tukwila indicating such by KCBALD before a Certificate of Occupancy will be issued. 3. The Tukwila Fire Marshal requested a copy of the building shell fire sprinkler drawings be forwarded for his review. 4. The required smoke removal test will be conducted following completion of the HVAC system and will be accomplished jointly by both inspection agencies. 5. Following issue of the KCBALD building permit, the KCBALD inspector will conduct a complete inspection of the building with Boss Testing. They have been providing inspection service under the KCBALD 308 construction authorization. The King County inspector has invited the Tukwila inspector to accompany him on this inspection for familiarization and assurance that the building construction meets all code and permit requirements. Edmonds, Washington 98020 May 9,1989 Mr. Scott Smith EVERGREEN MOBILE CO, 22433 S.E, 56th Street Issaquah, WA 98027 RE: Temporary Building Definition P 13 Dear Mr. Smith, In our footing capacity resting of the Footing Analysis dated 10/23/88, the subject of temporary buildings is mentioned without adequate definition of what determines a temporary building. Uniform Building Code specifies a mi.ni.mum depth of footings which is covered by Section 2907(a), Table 29-A. Evergreen takes exception to this requirement because the buildings manufactured by EMCO are temporary and many times are installed on top of aephalt paving. The definition of a "temporary building" which Evergreen Mobile Co. uses is as follows: A building constructed of modules which are assembled at a euetomox site to form a whole and complete system v£ structure, mechanical, end electrical components. Thin modular construction is erected with the intention of disassembly and relocation at some future time The footings will be designed for the ground conditions anticipated for each sseembly site. The affect of frost, when it would be encountered/ will be corrected . by adjusting the modules to preclude damage to the structure end systems, The temporary nature of these buildings are intended whereas the U,B.C. requirement is for permanent buildings which are not intended for disassembly and relocation. Local codes or building department rules may vary end special permits may be required for these temporary buildings. A time limiting the duration for each site would be determined by local officials or the customer needs. Evergreen may not have the right to specify such limite. This figure will be reviewed and is subject to possible revision by the Building Division to comply with current fee schedules. BUILDING OWNER / AUTHORIZED AGENT If the applicant is other than the owner, registered architect/engineer, or contractor licensed by the State of Washington, a notarized letter from the property owner authorizing the agent to submit this permit application and obtain the permit will be required as part of this submittal. EXPIRATION OF PLAN REVIEW Applications for which no permit Is issued within 180 days following the date of application shall expire by limitations.
