Dear Mr. Richards:
Relative to items noted on structural check by Lloyd F.
Quatier and Associates, the following action has been
taken:
1. Plans have been revised and each sheet signed as
required and checked by Mr. Quatier.
2. Plans have been so noted.
3. Plans have been revised to 20# as requested and
checked by Mr. Quatier.
4. We feel that inspection of welding, which on this
job is quite minor, is acceptable and if you require
we will have local testing laboratory perform the
check. As to the concrete, since virtually none is
structural in nature and is in fact mostly shallow
footings and ground level flat slabs, that the intent
of the code really doesn't require this rather expen-
sive procedure and we ask relief.
5. Plans again so noted to agree with specifications.
6. As discussed with our Mr. Windier, since we are deal-
ing with unknown as far as water table is concerned,
this phase should be delayed until excavation is
complete to determine if ground water table requires
anchoring of tanks. We will so install if required.
7. Sign base and details will be applied for separately
by our sign contractor.

we wonder why the adjoining restaurant did not have to
comply with.theserequitements.

5. As per conversation with.Mr. Windier, we will provide
hose opening:in:overhead'doori and will install
adequate sign in tube bays that motors must not be run
without doors being opened..
6. A separate furnace room is being built as per revised
structural and general arrangement plans and one hour
separation .is being installed.

10. Our steel fabricator pointed out that .exception #1
from the tempered glass provision pertains on glass
over 18" above floor which is this instance. Doors
will have tempered glass'as requested where full
glass panels exist.
On items mentioned in the letter from City of Tukwila Pire
Department, the following will be our procedure:
1. Two dry chemical Ansul 10 -E "Plus Fifty" extinguishers
capacity pounds 10 U.L. 30 B.C. are on order and will
be installed in service bay and sales foyer per OSHA
mounting requirements.
2. All electrical work will be done by Pox and Nystrom
from Renton and will comply with all national and state
electrical codes.
3. Tanks and piping installation and testing will be per
NFPA #30. .General contractor Will notify myself and
the fire department to witness testing.
4. Emergency pump shut -off switch will be conspicuously
alined..
. Furnace room will be separated from lube bay by one hour
fire retardent wall and ; will have - outside ' excess, per
plans revision. An automatic fire damper will be
installed in duct where it enters main building.
Pire retardant roof ,will be.•installed.
7, No Smoking -, Stop:Your Motor signs will be installed..on
pump island as our standard operation.
8. General contractor: will- acquire oil tank permit..and
furnace permit from fire- department.
The yearly,,permit for repairing :and servicing motor vehicles
will be acquired from fire department by incoming dealer.
