'The question of opening or fixed windows has arisen from time to time •
for hospital patient rooms. Because UBC allows fixed windows when a
building is mechanically ventilated the Fire Marshal believes because.
UBC takes precedence over NFPA this opening' requirement would not be
a Fire Marshal requirement, however, it will be prudent to include
opening provisions because of the Federal requirements 'under NFPA
parts. of life safety code; 101. Refer', to Section 16 -41 for automatic
sprinkler requirements and, for windowless buildings also to 1604111
and the appendix notes.
For fire stop partitions 'see NFPA 10- .1315.
