Dear Frank,
Plan Check No. 0 -304
Use: Office & Laboratory
Type V -N Group F 2
Fire Zone III
1967 Uniform Building Code
Owner: Bendix Corporation
5-05 baktA)
We are returning to you under separate cover the above subject
plan which has been checked for conformance with the Uniform
Building Code and following are the comments of our plans
checker,
1. The building being designed as a Type V -N structure is
limited to 6,000 square feet as an F -2 occupancy, plus a one -
third or 2,000 square feet increase, due to fire zone 3. The
building as designed contains 10,600 square feet, however,
additional area increases by Section 506 are allowed. We feel
that the increase permitted by using the formula based on
separation on three sides is the most beneficial. Therefore,
we have multiplied the allowable or 8,000 square feet by two
and one -half percent, by 30 feet which is the distance beyond
the 20 foot to the centerline to the James Christianson Road
which is east of the future expansion area which we have taken
into consideration.
2. The corridor leading to the east area (131) constitutes a
dead end. Some approved means of egress is to be provided.
Section 3304 (e).
NY1/27
3. This corridor also serves as an egress corridor and must
rate for one -hour on the corridor side. The doors entering
into this corridor are to be a minimum of 1 & 3/4" solid core.
(See Table 33 8 and Section 3304 f ).
4. An exit sign is to be provided in the vestibule (120) to
direct egress through the staff entrance,
5. Corridor 012 is to be as per item #3.
16071 N.E. 2ND • STREET BELLEVUE, WABHINOTON 9.004 • •N. 6 -2222
6... The 'toilet. areas are to . be as per Section- 1.71-1! or: an
approved equal. Specifications do not.` give.suffi'ci:ent detail:

Subjects Paint Spray Booth
Dear Johns
i have just discussed your paint spray booth with
Frank Zepp, Superintendent of Buildings, Tukwila
Building Department. He stated that as long Os we
have a spark -proof fan and are spraying, one -half.
pint or less of lacquer a day under the hood*
special provisions would be requirod. ` He stated
that he would pass the installation.
Yours very truly,
Dean H. Sanders
