Handouts are available at the Building counter which provide more detailed information on application and plan submittal requirements. Application and plans must be complete in order to be accepted for plan review. VALUATION OF CONSTRUCTION Valuation for new construction and additions are calculated by the Department of Community Development prior to application submittal. Contact the Permit Coordinator at 431 -3670 prior to submitting application. In all cases, a valuation amount should be entered by the applicant. This figure will be reviewed and is subject to possible revision by the Building Division to comply with current fee schedules. BUILDING OWNER / AUTHORIZED AGENT If the applicant is other than the owner, registered architect/engineer, or contractor licensed by the State of Washington, a notarized letter from the property owner authorizing the agent to submit this permit application and obtain the permit will be required as part of this submittal. EXPIRATION OF PLAN REVIEW Applications for which no permit is issued within 180 days following the date of application shall expire by limitations. The building official may extend the time for action by the applicant for a period not exceeding 180 days upon written request by the applicant as defined in Section 304(d) of the Uniform Building Code (current edition). Rants, Mayor May 18, 1993 Fire Department Review Control #B93 -0164 (510) Re: Northwest Pendleton - 820 Southcenter Mall Dear Sir: The attached set of building plans have been reviewed by The Fire Prevention Bureau and are acceptable with the following concerns: 1. Maintain fire extinguisher coverage throughout. The total number of fire extinguishers required for your establishment is calculated at one extinguisher for each 3000 sq. ft. of area. The extinguisher(s) should be of the "All Purpose" (2A, 10B:C) dry chemical type. Travel distance to any fire extinguisher must be 75' or less. (NFPA 10, 3 -1.1) Extinguishers shall be installed on the hangers or in the brackets supplied, mounted in cabinets, or set on shelves (NFPA 10, 1 -6.9), and shall be installed so that the top of the extinguisher is not more than 5 feet above the floor. (NFPA 10, 1 -6.9) Extinguishers shall be located so as to be in plain view (if at all possible), or if not in plain view, they shall be identified with a sign stating, "Fire Extinguisher ", with an arrow pointing to the unit. (NFPA 10, 1 -6.3) (UFC 10.505A) Clear access to fire extinguishers is required at all times. They may not be hidden or obstructed. (NFPA 10, 1 -6.5) 2. An approved automatic fire sprinkler extinguishing system is required for this project. B. :ASCRIPTION OF WORK: 1. Furnish and install all materials and equipment required for an operational fire sprinkler system. Begin with a connection to the existing 4" sprinkler main passing through the Storage Room and proceed downstream as shown on the drawings and in compliance with applicable *odes and regulations of the State of Washington, City of Tukwila, Factory Mutual and other governing agencies, all hereinafter to be called the authorities having jurisdiction (AHJ). Installation is to be "concealed" except where no finished ceiling exists. 2. Architectural GENERAL REQUIREMENTS and CONTRACT CONDITIONS shall be a part of this Specification. C. CONTRACTOR QUALIFICATIONS: The fire sprinkler work shall be performed only by` craftsmen experienced and regularly engaged in this work. The on -site sprinkler foreman shall have at least 5 years, fulltime experience as a sprinkler fitter. The Contractor must be a Licensed Fire Protection Contractor per State of Washington, 1991 requirements. U. PERMITS: This Contractor shall make application, coordinate and pay for ail permits and inspections as required for this work. E. SHOP DRAWINGS: The Contractor shall prepare detailed shop drawings and ycrau iculations as required, obtain approvals from the AHJ and submit five (5) copies to the Architect /Engineer (A /E) for approval. Work may not proceed until the drawings have been approved. It is this Contractor's responsibility to notify the A /E, before construction, of any conflicts between the drawings and physical installation or otherwise which will delay or have a cost impact on this division of work. CUTTING AND PATCHING: The Contractor shall be responsible for all interior cutting and patching, related to this work as required.
