APPLICATION SUBMITTAL In order to ensure that your application is accepted for plan review, please make sure to fill out the
application completely and follow the plan submittal checklist on the reverse side of this form. Handouts are available at
the Building counter which provide more detailed information on application and plan submittal requirements.
Application and plans must be complete in order to be accepted for plan review.
VALUATION OF CONSTRUCTION Valuation for new construction and additions are calculated by the Department of
Community Development prior to application submittal. Contact the Permit Coordinator at 431 -3670 prior to submitting
application. In all cases, a valuation amount should be entered by the applicant. This figure will be reviewed and is
subject to possible revision by the Building Division to comply with current fee schedules.
BUILDING OWNER / AUTHORIZED AGENT If the applicant is other than the owner, registered architect/engineer, or contractor
licensed by the State of Washington, a notarized letter from the property owner authorizing the agent to submit this
permit application and obtain the permit will be required as part of this submittal.
EXPIRATION OF PLAN REVIEW Applications for which no permit is issued within 180 days following the date of application shall
expire by limitations. The building official may extend the time for action by the applicant for a period not exceeding 180
days upon written request by the applicant as defined in Section 304(d) of the Uniform Building Code (current edition).
No application shall be extended more than once.

GENERAL NOTES
1.
The Contractor shall be governed by all conditions as indicated in the
Construction Drawings and Specifications.
2. All work shall conform to the applicable building codes and ordinances.
in case of any conflict where the method or standards of installation or
the materials specified do not equal or exceed the requirements of the
laws or ordinances, the laws or ordinances shall govern.
?,. The Contractor shall be responsible for safety in the area of work in
accordance with all .applicable safety codes.
4. The Contractor shall indemnify and hold the joiner /Architect /Engineer
harmless for injury or death to persons or for damage to property caused
by the negligence of the Contractor, his agents, employees or
subcontractors.
5. Each Contractor is responsible for any damage to adjacent work and is
responsible for the repair of said damage at his own expense.
6. Workmanship shall be first class and to accepted standards recognized
within each state or trade.
7. • Structural, plumbing, mechanical, electrical and fire protection drawings
are supplementary to these drawings. The Contractor shall coordinate
the work of each consulting engineer and shall notify the Architect of all
discrepancies.
AiI information shown on the drawings relative to existing conditions is
given as the best present knowledge. Contractor shah field verify
existing conditions and dimensions and shall notify the Architect of any
discrepancies. Do not scale drawings.
9. Unless otherwise indicated, dimensions for all new work are measured
from face of stud and dimensions of existing work are measured from
face of existing finish.
10. Doors and cased openings without location dimensions are to be six
inches from the face of the adjacent partition or centered between
partitions.
11. Locate walls that are not dimensioned toe flush and square with the
existing structure or on the centerline of a window mullion.
12. The Contractor shall investigate and verify locations of structural,
mechanical, and electrical elements and other existing conditions prior to
drilling or cutting of slabs or structural members.
13. The Contractor shall be responsible for providing all wail blocking as
required for all wall and ceiling mounted items.

14. All construction shall be stabilized against lateral movement in
accordance with the requirements of the latest adopted edition of the
UBC in the local jurisdiction.
15. • Ceiling heights, where indicated, are from concrete to bottom of ceiling
• grid or other finished surface.
16. Mechanical work shall be conducted under separate permit.
17. There shall be no exposed pipe, conduits, ducts, vents, etc. All such
lines shall be concealed or furred and finished, unless noted as exposed
construction on drawings.
18. Provide galvanic insulation between dissimilar metals.
19. The Carpet Contractor shall furnish and install rubber reducer strip at
locations where carpet and resilient flooring meet. Provide color
samples for approval.
20. Electrical/Telephone outlets will be mounted vertically at +12" unless
otherwise noted. All wall mounted receptacles located in casework are
to be mounted horizontally. Special heights are noted adjacent to the
outlet.
21. Asbestos: it is the Contractor's responsibility to insure asbestos
inspections have been completed and forms submitted to the governing
agency prior to commencing work of any kind.
22. Throughout the plans are abbreviations which are common use. The list
of abbreviations .provided is not intended to be complete or
representative of conditions or materials actually in use on the project.
The architect will define the intent of any in question.
23. Contractor shall verify sizes and locations of all openings for and
electrical equipment with mechanical and electrical contractors, as well
as shop drawings approved by architect, before proceeding with work.
24. Provide fire dampers and access panels for ducts and A/C fixtures when
passing through a fire rated enclosure. Provided fire dampers at all
supply air and return air outlets or inlets penetrating fire rated
assemblies, enclosures, and surfaces and as required by the Fire
Department code. Class iII flame spread required on interior finished
and materials. All wood blocking to be fire treated. All batt insulation,
including facing, shall have a flame spread rated not to exceed FS 25.
25. All exit doors shall be openable from the inside without the use of key or
any special knowledge or effort. All thresholds are 1/2" el. change max.
All exit signs shall have letters six (6) inches high min., and shall conform
with applicable codes.
