Application and plans must be complete in order to be accepted for plan review. VALUATION OF - $ONSTRUCTION Valuation for new construction and additions are calculated by the Department of Community evelopment prior to application submittal. Contact the Permit Coordinator at 431 -3670 prior to submitting application. In all cases, a valuation amount should be entered by the applicant. This figure will be reviewed and is subject to possible revision by the Building Division to comply with current fee schedules. BUILDING OWNER / AUTHORIZED AGENT If the applicant is other than the owner, registered architect/engineer, or contractor licensed by the State of Washington, a notarized letter from the property owner authorizing the agent to submit this permit application and obtain the permit will be required as part of this submittal. EXPIRATION OF PLAN REVIEW Applications for which no permit is issued within 180 days following the date of application shall expire by limitations. The building official may extend the time for action by the applicant for a period not exceeding 180 days upon written request by the applicant as defined in Section 304(d) of the Uniform Building Code (current edition). The total number of fire extinguishers required for your establishment is calculated at one extinguisher for each 3000 sq. ft. of area. The extinguisher(s) should be of the "All Purpose" (2A, 10B:C) dry chemical type. Travel distance to any fire extinguisher must be 75' or less. (NFPA 10,. 3 -1.1) Extinguishers shall be installed on the hangers or in the brackets supplied, mounted in cabinets, or set on shelves (NFPA 10, 1 -6.9), and shall be installed so that the top of the extinguisher is not more than 5 feet above the floor. It summarizes the result of our soil evaluation conducted for this project located at 17300 West Valley Highway in Tukwila. We understand that the following information was requested by the City of Tukwila and limited to Allowable Foundation Pressure. This report conforms to the requirements of the Uniform Building Code Section 29. The intent is to establish a guide line for the future construction in order to reduce the risk of injury to people or ,damage to property. ALLOWABLE FOUNDATION PRESSURE On February 1, 1993, a representative soil sample obtained and laboratory tested to determine the amount passing No. 200 sieve. Referring to this test, it was classified to be Urban type unit. It is a mixture of many different soil properties and should be handled carefully. Basic allowable foundation pressure should be 1000 psf per foot of depth below natural grade. This value is for footings having a minimum width of 12 inches and a minimum depth of 12 inches into natural grade. It is essentially the same as the building replaced except the roll up doors are both on the west side of the building and it is one foot wider. He said they would need 2. copies only, since this is a replacement of what previously existed. The United States Printing Ink Company, Inc. (USPI) is the tenant at the site. To effectively utilize the plant they would like the north dock slab replaced as soon as feasible. If you can approve the footings and slab design early we can have the contractor finish this work prior to the shipment of the building to our site. The building takes 6 to 8 weeks for production and we would appreciate your approval as soon as feasible. Darryl Dalisky, the plant manager for USPI in Tukwila, has talked to the fire department about storage of materials and was told to await plan submission before further discussions.
