Annual Overlay and Repair Program - Pavement Maintenance Management Program Update
ement Program. Pavement
conditions are monitored and maintenance needs are tracked and budgeted using a data - based
system that is reflected in a Pavement Condition Rating for the entire city. Street conditions in
Tukwila are generally good, but at current funding levels repair activities have not kept up with normal
deterioration. Staff believes that an overlay construction budget of approximately $1,500,000 per
year would be sufficient to keep pace with normal deterioration. The proposed 2015 - 2016 Budge t
includes a budget of $1,150,000 because the figures were not yet available. Further updates on the
program will be proved to the Transportation Committee every two years.
Committee Chair Ekberg inquired about the applicability of Transportation Benefit District funding
toward this program. The Transportation and Finance and Safety Committees have received
information on Transportation Benefit District funding opportunities , but no proposal has been
brought forward thus far. Chair Ekberg indicated he will address this during current Budget review
