Mayor Van Dusen introduced a Letter of Understanding between the Cities of Renton and Tukwila in regard to Tukwila's pro- posed annexation of King County Fire District No. 1. John McFarland, City Administrator, reported that the Renton City Council considered the Memorandum of Understanding this evening and passed it. This memo is the beginning of the negotiation process to arrive at an interlocal agreement on Sub -area #3. Council Member Bauch expressed concern about the quarry site which was considered as one of the locations for a garbage incinerator. If the Boundary Review Board deletes this area, what assurance does Renton have that someone will petition them to annex. If this remains in the County, they have control. If we annex it, we will go through another boundary line adjustment with Renton.
