Request: Approval of two freestanding signs for Foster Park. A special permission permit is required because Foster Park is in an LDR zone. The applicant is requesting approval for two Special Permission signs in an LDR zone. The signs will advertise Foster Park. Both signs will face 53` Avenue South. Steven M. Total area of signs shall not exceed 60 square feet... maximum height above ground, when in setback area, shall not exceed 16 feet. Foster Park fronts three streets making the applicant's two proposed signs permissible under the code. The total area of the two proposed signs is 36 sq. ft. which is well below the maximum area allowed in the code. The proposed sign heights of 3' and setbacks of 50' and 8' are also within the parameters of the code. CONCLUSIONS The proposed signage meets all pertinent code requirements for a public facility sign in an LDR zone. DECISION The request, as presented in attachments to this report, is hereby approved.
