This work will require disturbance to wetlands and wetland buffers and therefore must be approved by the Community Development Director per TMC 18.45.080 B. I have reviewed the restoration planting scheme you have provided for the disturbed areas and find that the proposed native plantings will adequately mitigate for the disturbance necessary to replace the poles. I understand that your contractor will guarantee the survival of the plantings through the first growing season. You may proceed with the replacement project. Sincere y, Steve Lancaster DCD Director Q:\LETFERS\PSE_Poles.DOC sow City of Tukwila Department of Community Development Steve Lancaster, Director Steven M. This request was made pursuant to Section 18.45.080 (B(1)) of the Tukwila City Code. At that time you requested information on the restoration standards that would be followed by our contractor. Subsequently, the work was postponed until the 2004 budget year. I have attached the restoration plan for the work that will be utilized by our contractor. This plan was prepared by a licensed landscape architect. The maintenance of the line will include replacement of six poles. The poles to be replaced are located between Strander Boulevard and S 180 Street on the east side of the Interurban Trail. The poles are identified by number with white paint on the trail, as follows: 2/12, 2/13, 2/14, 2/15, 3/5, 3/6 In addition, the approaches to the following poles, which were replaced in 2002 will be restored: 3/2, 3/3 The proposed work is scheduled for completion in spring 2004. Replacement of the poles will involve removal of vegetation and placement of ground mats as necessary for access to the poles with auger and boom trucks. Wetland impacts will be the minimum necessary for completion of the work and all areas will be immediately restored in accordance with the attached plan. Thank you.
