Ordinance 340 AN ORDINANCE OF THE TOWN OF TUKWILA VACATING A
CER^sAIN PORTION OF SOUTH 162nd STREET and 54th AVr�I..�i JE SOUTH
IN THE TOWN OF TUKWILA.
WHEREAS, on October 16, 1961, Resolution ;i= I in was
passed by the Councilcf the Town of Tukwila declaring the
intention of the Town Council of said town to initiate street
vacation procedures for certain portions of South 162nd Street
and 54th Avenue South as hereinafter legally described
WHEREAS, that resolution provided for a public
hearing on said proposed vacation to be held on November 6,
1961, in the Tukwila town hall
WHEREAS, due notice of said hearing was given as
required by law
WHEREAS, hearing on said resolution was held before
the Town Council of the Town of Tukwila on November 6, 1961,
and
WHEREAS, the Town Council has determined to vacate S.
162nd Street and 54th Avenue South,
NOW, THEREFORE, be it ordained by the Council of the
Town of Tukwila
Section 1. That the following described real property
be and the same is hereby vacated:
"A vacation of 60.00 feet right -of -way of portions of
54th Avenue South and South 162nd St. described as
follows:
Beginning at the West 1/4 corner of section 26, Twp. 23N,
Range 4 E., W.M.; thence N. 0°14'13" W. along the West
line of the N.W. 1/4 of said section, 1400 feet; thence
S. 89 °21'31" E., 664 feet to the southwest corner of
Tract 22; thence N. 0 °14'13" W., along the West line of
Tract 22, 200 feet to the northwest corner thereof; thence
S. 89 21'31"E., along the North line of Tract 22, 636.35
feet to the Northeast corner thereof and which point is
also, respectively, S. 0 °09'36" E., 185.86 feet and N. 89°
21'31 W., 30.00 feet from the intersection of the center
line of 54th Avenue South with the centerline of South
162nd Street as now established; thence N. 0 °09'36" W.
along the west margin of 54th Avenue South, 61.00 feet;
thence S. 89 °21'31" E., 30.00 feet to the centerline of
54th Avenue South which is the true point of beginnirru
of the centerline of a 60.00 feet wide right -of -way des-
cribed as follows:
Beginning at the said true point of beginning, thence N.
0 °09'36" W. along the centerline of a 60.00 feet right-
of-way, 124.86 feet to the intersection of the centerline
of South 162nd Street; thence N. 67 °43'05" W. along said
centerline, 234.53 feet, thence North 46 °22'50" W. 466.04
feet to the intersection of the centerline of 53rd Avenue
South and South 160th Street. Except that portion of the
Street intersection that lies North and West of the inter-
section of the East Margin line of 53rd Avenue South
extended, having a bearing of S. 3 °24'20" W. and the South
Margin line of South 160th Street extended, bearing N. 76°
07'40" West.
Section 2. Provided, however, that the Town of
Tukwila retains an easement and the right to exercise and grant
easements in respect to the vacated land for the construction,
repair and maintenance of public utilities and services.
Section 3. That this ordinance shall be in effect
five days from and after its passage, approval and publication
as provided by law.
