Date: August 21, 1996
The Parks and Recreation Department desires to install a 10 foot wide temporary trail just
east of where Interurban Avenue South crosses the Green River. A map is attached
showing the location. Later on a permanent trail and related permits will be sought (in
1997). We have a contractor ready to install the gravel path. Because the trail location is
within the Shoreline River Zone, I want to make sure no permit is needed for this work.
The value of the work is $2488.60. A copy of the price quote is attached.
As we would like to do the work as soon as possible, a quick response is requested.
In addition to the value of the work the new section of the trail will eliminate the unsafe
use of the dirt and blackberry pathway by current trail users. This trail area is not open
but users continue to cross it.
