must be complete in order to be accepted for plan review.
BUILDING OWNER/AUTHORIZED AGENT If the applicant is other than the owner, registered architect/engineer, or contractor licensed
by the State of Washington, a notarized letter from the property owner authorizing the agent to submit this permit
application and obtain the permit will be required as part of this submittal.
VALUATION OF CONSTRUCTION The valuation is for the work covered by this permit and must be filled in by the applicant. This
figure is used for budget reporting purposes only and not to calculate your fees.
EXPIRATION OF PLAN REVIEW Applications for which no permit is issued within 1.80 days following the date of application shall
expire by limitation. The Building Official may extend the time for action by the applicant for a period not exceeding 180
days upon written request by the applicant as defined in Section 304(d) of the Uniform Mechanical Code (cutTent
edition). No application shall be extended more than once.

Dear Sir:
The attached set of building plans have been reviewed by
The Fire Prevention Bureau and are acceptable with the
following concerns:
1. Maintain fire extinguisher coverage throughout.
Clear access to fire extinguishers is required at all
times. They may not be hidden or obstructed. (NFPA
10, 1 -6.5)
2. All new sprinkler systems and all modifications to
existing sprinkler systems shall have fire department
review and approval of drawings prior to installation or
modification. New sprinkler systems and all modifications
to sprinkler systems involving more than 50 heads shall
have the written approval of the W.S.R.B., Factory Mutual,
Industrial Risk Insurers, Kemper or any other
representative designated and /or recognized by The City of
Tukwila, prior to submittal to the Tukwila Fire Prevention
Bureau. No sprinkler work shall commence without approved
drawings. (City Ordinance #1646)
Contact The Tukwila Fire Prevention Bureau to witness
all required inspections and tests. (UFC 10.503) (City

3. All electrical work and equipment shall conform
strictly to the standards of The National Electrical Code.

As you know, we are creating a data base with land use and parking
information for the Urban Center and Manufacturing Industrial
Center. This information will eventually be used to create a set
of parking policies and regulations for the City, as well as help
in implementing our CTR program.
We need to design the data base such that it works to record
existing information, but also provides information in the
categories we will need in the future. One of the categories of
information is actual land use. This will be used to calculate
parking spaces per square foot of buildinns for certain land uses,

The attached memo was prepared for Rick's response in December,
before the advanced schedule on the development code precluded a
detailed look at a new format. I did not receive any response to
the memo.
The question of what land use categories are most useful to us in
developing a new parking ordinance, however, is still relevant.
Because we are now making minimal amendments to our existing code,
rather than developing a new development code, we have proposed
taking that approach as well with the parking section.
We are now considering linking our building, site and parking data
to land use categories as proposed in the existing parking code,
adding new categories addressing mixed use as necessary. The
description of retail building types also needs to be re- assessed,
as these are quite outdated. I welcome any additional thoughts or
feedback.
