Dear Sir: The attached set of building plans have been reviewed by The Fire Prevention Bureau and are acceptable with the following concerns: 1. Maintain fire extinguisher coverage throughout. Clear access to fire extinguishers is required at all times. They may not be hidden or obstructed. (NFPA 10, 1 -6.5) 2. All new sprinkler systems and all modifications to existing sprinkler systems shall have fire department review and approval of drawings prior to installation or modification. New sprinkler systems and all modifications to sprinkler systems involving more than 50 heads shall have the written approval of the W.S.R.B., Factory Mutual, Industrial Risk Insurers, Kemper or any other representative designated and /or recognized by The City of Tukwila, prior to submittal to the Tukwila Fire Prevention Bureau. I did not receive any response to the memo. The question of what land use categories are most useful to us in developing a new parking ordinance, however, is still relevant. Because we are now making minimal amendments to our existing code, rather than developing a new development code, we have proposed taking that approach as well with the parking section. We are now considering linking our building, site and parking data to land use categories as proposed in the existing parking code, adding new categories addressing mixed use as necessary. The description of retail building types also needs to be re- assessed, as these are quite outdated.
