EXPIRATION OF PLAN REVIEW Applications for which no permit is issued within 180 days following the date of application shall
expire by limitation. The Building Official may extend the time for action by the applicant for a period not exceeding 180
days upon written request by the applicant as defined in Section 304(d) of the Uniform Mechanical Code (current
edition). No application shall be extended more than once.

Description of Operation: Simple System PERMIT CENTER
Thank you for purchasing. a Nederman Exhaust System. This equipment has been
designed with an automatic disconnection device for use with emergency vehicles
that must respond quickly. There is no need to stop and manually remove the
exhaust nozzle during departure nor worry about running over equipment when
returning to the station. This is how the system functions:
The autodisconnect hose with vice grip nozzle is clamped to a modified tail pipe and
remains connected to the parked vehicle in the apparatus room. The exhaust fan is
wired to energize* just before the vehicle is started. Toxic exhaust emissions are
captured at the source and vented safely outside the building. Upon departure an
internal cable, which is shorter than the fully extended hose, activates the disconnect
feature and releases the nozzle from the tail pipe as the vehicle exits the building:
The balancer draws the hose up and off the floor and returns the assembly to the
storage position. A time delay switch is set to turn the fan off within 3 - 10 minutes
after departure.
The system functions automatically; no time is lost by stopping the vehicle to
manually disconnect the nozzle, store the hose, or tum off the fan while exiting the
station. When returning from a run, the nozzle is attached to the tail pipe as the
vehicle enters the .station and moves into its parked position. Lethal exhaust fumes
are not discharged in the building.
To ensure that the Nederman Exhaust System for fire and emergency response
vehicles functions reliably and correctly, follow the attached instruction ,manual to
plan for:
a. Installation
b. Operation
c. Maintenance
*Automatic or manual fan controls, timers, bolts to install brackets to the building,
and electrical supplies are provided by the installing contractor.
IMPORTANT! Prior to start -up, it is imperative that all personnel involved
with use of the Simple System read this manual and become familiarized with:
