by the State of Washington, a notarized letter from the property owner authorizing the agent to submit this permit
application and obtain the permit will be required as part of this submittal.
VALUATION OF CONSTRUCTION The valuation is for the work covered by this permit and must be filled in by the applicant. This
figure is used for budget reporting purposes only and not to calculate your fees.
EXPIRATION OF PLAN REVIEW Applications for which no permit is issued w)thin 180 days following the date of application shall
expire by limitation. The Building Official may extend the time for action by the applicant for a period not exceeding 180
days upon written request by the applicant as defined in Section 304(d) of the Uniform Mechanical Code (current
edition). No application shall be extended more than once.

The mechanical drawings that were submitted on this project showed duct smoke
detectors on several of the air conditioning systems. These have been reviewed on
site with the mechanical inspector and per the revised mechanical code of July 1,
1995 are not required.
All units have building exits within 25' of the air conditioning unit location. As such,
there is no need for duct smoke detectors.

Dear Sir:
The attached set of building plans have been reviewed by
The Fire Prevention Bureau and are acceptable with the
following concerns:
1. H.V.A.C. systems supplying air in excess of 2,000
cubic feet per minute to enclosed spaces within buildings
shall be equipped with an automatic shutoff. Automatic
shutoff shall be accomplished by interrupting the power
source of the air - moving equipment upon detection of smoke
in the main supply -air duct served by such equipment.
Smoke detectors shall be labeled by an approved agency for
air -duct installation and shall be installed in accordance
with the manufacturer's installation instructions. (UMC
608)
H.V.A.C. units rated at 2,000 cfm require
auto - shutdown devices. These devices shall be
separately zoned in the alarm panel and local U.L.
central station supervision is required. (City

All new fire alarm systems or modifications to
existing systems shall have the written approval of
