CALL TO ORDER Council President Morgan called the Committee of the Whole Meeting
to order.
COUNCIL MEMBERS MABEL J. HARRIS, JOE H. DUFFIE, WENDY A. MORGAN (COUNCIL PRESIDENT),
PRESENT MARILYN G. STOKNES, JOHN M. MCFARLAND.
Mayor Van Dusen, Rick Beeler (Planning Director), Alan Doerschel
(Finance Director), Jim Haney (City Attorney), Lucy Lauterbach
(Legislative Coordinator), Bob McQueen (Assistant Police Chief),
Don Morrison (City Administrator), Don Pierce (Police Chief).
Council President Morgan distributed a memorandum to Council
Members dated November 30, 1987 regarding a request for more
specificity in zoning and land use documents. She asked the
Council to consider them and comment on them at a subsequent
meeting. The Council can then make a request to administration
to reexamine the current comprehensive land use policy and
standards for architectural review.
The request by the Police Department for one new automobile
was discussed. There was no objection to the addition of the
car.
The Council agreed to accept the Police Department budget as
presented.
Mayor's Budget The Mayor's budget will be discussed next week.
The need to attend training sessions was discussed. Don MOrrison,
City Administrator, said a plan has been discussed to have those
attending training sessions give a report upon their return to
someone else so others can benefit from the training.
The Council agreed to accept the Personnel budget.
Planning Department The Council will discuss the Planning Department budget later
in the week.
Parks and Recreation The Parks and Recreation budget will be discussed at a later date.
Council President Morgan adjourned the meeting.
