the City in the next few years.

Council Committees

Mayor Van Dusen reported on the solid waste process. There
is a proposed County Ordinance that designates four sites:
Black River, Kent, Issaquah, and the SR -18 site. There is
still a lot of discussion to be held on this.
Council President Harris asked Council Members to submit
their preference for the committee they would like to serve
on. She will have the assignments ready by next Monday.
Unsightly Business Council Member Hernandez reported that a citizen had
complained about the unsightly area being created by Monster
Auto Wrecking on Empire Way South. They are dumping junk
cars down the hillside north of Tukwila. The business is
located in the County but can be seen by many Tukwila citi-
zens. Mayor Van Dusen offered to look into it.
Grocery Store Closing Council Member Hernandez reported that some citizens are
unhappy because the grocery store in the Southcenter Mall is
closing. This will create a problem for some of the older
people.

ADJOURNMENT

BENEDICTION
Don Morrison, City Administrator, explained that citizens
along 58th Avenue have, any number of times, requested that
Cable TV be made available to them. The only way this can be
done is to dig a trench in the street. He asked if anyone
has an objection to the City issuing a street use permit to
make this cut, please let him know.
Council President Harris asked, on behalf of her neighbors,
to allow the cable company to install cable for Interurban
Avenue, So. 143rd, 144th, 144th Place, on the existing poles.
Mayor Van Dusen said Administration would request this.
MOVED BY DUFFIE, SECONDED BY STOKNES, THAT THE REGULAR
