M I N U T E S
Mayor Van Dusen called the Tukwila City Council Committee of the
Whole Meeting to order and led the audience and the Councilmembers
in the Pledge of Allegiance.

STOKNES, JAMES J. MCKENNA.
Mayor Van Dusen, Maxine Anderson (City Clerk), Rick Beeler
(Planning Director), Larry Martin (City Attorney), Don Morrison
(City Administrator), Don Pierce (Chief of Police).
MOVED BY HARRIS, SECONDED BY SIMPSON, THAT THE TUKWILA CITY
COUNCIL APPROVE THE MINUTES OF THE COMMITTEE OF THE WHOLE MEETING
HELD FEBRUARY 9, 1987 AS PUBLISHED. MOTION CARRIED.
MOVED BY SIMPSON, SECONDED BY MCKENNA, THAT THE PROPOSED RESOLUTION
BE ON THE AGENDA OF A REGULAR MEETING OF THE COUNCIL.
Councilmember Simpson reported on the history of the agreement.
He stated he and Fire Chief Tom Keefe, Fire District #l, attended
a meeting of the Duwamish Improvement Club on February 19. They
furnished information concerning the proposed merger of Fire
District #1 with the City of Tukwila Fire Department.
Tom Lang, member of the Duwamish Improvement Club, presented a
letter from the president, George G. Gomez, stating they would like
to have more information. They requested Mayor Van Dusen be in
attendance at the meeting on March 19 to acquaint the members of
the club with the details of the merger. They requested the merger
be postponed to April 1 instead of March 1.
COUNCIL PRESIDENT MORGAN ARRIVED AT THE MEETING AT 6:45 P.M.
COUNCILMEMBER DUFFIE ARRIVED AT THE MEETING AT 6:45 P.M.
Council President Morgan stated as president of the City Council,
she could put the proposed resolution on the agenda of a Regular
Meeting after the March 19 meeting with the Duwamish Improvement
Club, or a special meeting could be held prior to the Committee
of the Whole Meeting on March 23, 1987.
MOTION CARRIED.
Mayor Van Dusen adjourned the Committee of the Whole Meeting
to go into the public hearing on the appeals to the BAR
decision on the Valley View Estates Proposal.
