"Mechanical Permit Fee Worksheet" must accompany this permit application. Handouts are available at the Building
counter which provide more detailed information on application and plan submittal requirements. Applicatici: and
plans must be complete in order to be accepted for plan review.
BUILDING OWNER / AUTHORIZED AGENT . If the applicant is other than the owner, registered architect/engineer, or
contractor licensed by the State of Washington, a notarized letter from the property owner authorizing the agent
to submit this permit application and obtain the permit will be required as part of this submittal.
VALUATION OF CONSTRUCTION The valuation is for the work covered by this permit and must be filled in by the
applicant. This figure is used for budget reporting purposes only and not to calculate your fees.
EXPIRATION OF PLAN REVIEW Applications for which no permit is issued within 180 days following the date of
application shall expire by limitation. The Building Official may extend the time for action by the applicant for a
period not exceeding 180 days upon written request by the applicant as defined in Section 304(d) of the Uniform
Mechanical Code (current edition). No application shall be extended more than once.

GAS -FIRED UNIT HEATERS /PROPELLER TYPE
Direct Heating Versatility
As a compact and concentrated source of gas heat, Modine
(propeller type) gas unit heaters are designed for installation - •
within the area they are to heat. Equipped with automatic
safety controls, all that is required to complete installation is
to suspend the unit heater and make gas, flue, and electric
service connections. Types of gases which may be used are
natural and propane, A thermostat is required for automatic
operation of the unit, During summer the tan may be utilized
for air circulation with addition of summer /winter switch • '

The gas vent system shall be so engineered and constructed as to
develop a positive flow adequate to exhaust all flue gases to outside
atmosphere, withrod nnndAnkatinn within the vent Qf spillage at any
appliance draft hood. .
Ail flue•gas carrying parts of the vent system shall be Selkirk
Metalbestos Type s double-wall gas vent piping, and such piping shall
be continuous from the appliances' outlets Into the Selkirk
Metalbestos vent top of housing,
Selkirk Metalbestos gas vent piping shall be Installed In full com•
pliance with the terms of Its Underwriters' Laboratories, Inc. listing,
with the manufacturer's Installation instruction, and wtlli nallvi'dlly
recognized building codes representing good practice for such
Installations,
