Peterson: :he original design of the roof structure used a 40.0 psf snow load and a 10.0 psf dead load which gives the 6000 1b. panel point load: of typical trusses T -1 & T -2. Therefore, the static live load cap - ability at each panel point designated with a 6000 lb. load is 4600 ib. Since the roof design snow load for Seattle is 25.0 psf there is a reserve of an 1800 ib. static live load capacity at each of these panel points with full roof snow load of 25 psf in place. If the additional capacity of these trusses is to be used to support crane rails the above load will be reduced by a 25; impact factor which is a Building Code Requirement. In Summary: With full snow load in place additional static load capacity 1800 lb. • With full'snow load in place additional crane load capacity 1350 lb. Without full snow load in place additional static load capac. 4800 lb. Without full snow load in place additional crane load capac. 3600 lb. • During the inspection trip of the building it was observed that crane rails have been mounted on the bottom chord of trusses between par-el points.
