period not exceeding 180 days upon written request by the applicant as defined in Section 304(d) of the Uniform

1. No changes will be made to the plans unless approved by
the Architect and the Tukwila Building Division.
2. electrical permit shall be obtained through the
Washington State Division of Labor and Industries and
all electrical work will be inspected by that agency
(277 - 7272).
3. All permits, inspection records, and approved plans
shall be posted at the job site prior to the start of
any construction.
4. Readily accessible access to roof mounted equipment is
required.
5. Any exposed insulations backing material to have Flame
Spread Rating of 25 or less, and material shall bear
identification showing the fire performance rating
thereof.
All construction to be done in conformance with
approved plans and requirements of the Uniform Building
Code (1988 Edition), Uniform Mechanical Code (1988
Edition), Washington State Energy Code (1989 Edition),
and Washington State Regulations for Barrier Free
Facility (1989 Edition).
7. Validity of Permit. The issuance of a permit or
approval of plans, specifications and computations
shall not be construed to be a permit for , or an
approval of, any violation of any of the provisions of
this code or of any other ordinance of the

The attached set of building plans have been reviewed by
The Fire Prevention Bureau and are acceptable with the
following concerns:
1. H.V.A.C. units rated at 2,000 cfm require
auto - shutdown devices. These devices shall be separately
zoned in the alarm panel and local U.L. Central Station
supervision is required.
Call the Tukwila Fire Department at 575 -4404 for
approval of any system shut down. Have job site
address, name, and the Tukwila Fire Department Job
Number available to confirm shut down approval. (UFC

Warranty
The Mechanical Contractor shall rrovide a written warranty that the enti *"
installation is free from defects in materials and workmanship for a period
of one year, except that air conditioning compressors shall be warranted
for five (5) years. '
BASIC MATERIALS AND METHODS
All wo-kd,anship and materials shall be of the highest quality in every
respect. Ali materials and equipment shall he new. of the latest design
and free of defects.
Design all piping and ductwork to present a neat and orderly appearance.
Run all lines parallel with building walls and construction. keep piping
and ductwork free from contact with structure or equipment to prevent noise
transmission, allowing clearance for expansion and contraction. Provide
access doors or panels for all valves. cleanouts, dampers. controls,
devices. etc.

Provide vibration'isolation devices for all moving: machinery. Provide
flexible connections to all moving machinery.
Refrigerant Piping
The refrigerant piping installed between the condensing unit and the air
handling unit shall be ACR•Type L hard drawn copper with Wrought copper
fittings and 95/5 soldered joints and shall he installed per detail.
'Piping shall be sized per HVAC equipment manufacturer's recommendation
after confirming vertical and horizontal distances between equipment.
Coordinate the routing with the Landlord.

control the operation of Supply Air Unit S -1. The therjm'ostat'sha11 be
furnished with a s•lbbase that includes an AUTO -ON fan switch and a HEAT-
rFF- COOL -AUTO system switch. Mount thermostat at 4' -6" A.F.F. and provide
inckins clear plastic cover.

Upon a rise in arses temperature above the betting Of the thermostat, the
air conditioning, unit shall cycle as required to maintain space temperature
at the thennnst,t setpoint. The sup¢1y fan shall be controlled by the
AU °n -ON fan switch.
When the outdoor air temperature is below 68 degrees F. the condensing, unit
operation shall be controlled by the economizer. The econotilizer shall
modulate the return air and outdoor air dampers to introduce up to 1001;
outdoor air to satisfy the mixed air thermostat.
Heating Cycle
Upon a drop in space temperntnre, below the setting of the thermostat T -1,
the co:1 chat) cycle as requi!.'t to maintain space temperature at the
thermostat setpoint,. The suprl'r fan shall be controlled by the AUTO-ON fan
switch.
