Provide electrical feed to new Clayton Model #EOG -100 steam generator. a.) install 60 amp, 3 pole, type THED circuit breaker in panel K2, b.) run 3/4" - 3 #6 THHN from panel K2 to steam generator, c.) install 60 amp, 3 pole, non -fused switch within site of generator. 3.) Relocate existing humidity monitor transmitter. Extend shielded pair and 1/2" conduit to new location. If existing shielded pair is not long enough - replace the entire cable- ground shield only one place as shown. 4.) Remove wiring to two existing water solenoids, two existing air solenoids, and two existing modulating valves. 5.) Wire new steam modulating valve to existing controller as shown. Ground shielded pair only one place as shown. 6.) Provide remote start /stop control of steam generator from existing relay CRA -4 (terminal 26 and 2). Provide and install new relay as required (engineer will field verify). 7.) Provide and install circuit breakers in panel K3 and circuit for freeze protection of steam generator and associated piping. Provide GFI protection as required by code. B) Mechanical Note:) Refer to Dwg # 121 - 003 - 4053 -M1, 121 - 003 - 4053 -M2, 121- 003 - 4153 -112, 121 - 003 - 4153 -M3, 121- 003 - 4303 -111, 121- 003 - 4503 -M2, and S &R CO. dwg #DEM1, and #A1. 1.) Contractor will be responsible for procuring all material needed for construction except for (1) Clayton Model #EOG -100 Steam Generator, and, 1 (2) Armstrong model BEM 94 -M9 -3 humidifiers with (3) manifolds, (2) Armstrong model 812 steam traps, (1) Armstrong temperature switch, (1) Armstrong high limit humidistat, and (1) Armstron model GP -11 1 -1/2" steam pressure reducing valve which will be supplied by Boeing. Boeing will also provide required permitting from the City of Tukwilla and King County. 2.) Remove existing water humidification system in the Jackson - Church model MU500 make -up air handling unit as per dwg #121- 003 - 4153 -M2. Demolition includes removal of water piping, compressed air piping, humidifier manifolds, solenoid valves, actuators, and pump. Demo water and compressed air piping back to source in the building. Patch holes in air handling unit cabinet made as pipe penetrations. 3.) Abandon condensate drip pans under the make -up air handling unit in place. 4.) Remove existing supply air ductwork as per S &R dwg #DEM1. Remove ductwork after 112" x 39" supply air duct splits in to two 48" x 48" double walled ducts. Reuse (4) existing 36" x 120" ducts that run to the paint booth plenum. 5.) Fabricate and install a new 112" x 39" to 198" x 48" transition. Transition should be constructed using SMACNA guide lines for the construction of medium pressure ductwork. The exterior of the new tran- sition should be covered with 2" thick Manville type rigid plenum liner. New transition will be installed immediately after the 112" x 39" supply air duct as per 5 &R dwg #A1 6.) Fabricate and install a new 198" x 48" x 528" long supply air plenum above the paint booth. The new plenum will be constructed of 16 ga sheet metal and will be built using the SMACNA guidelines for medium pressure ductwork. The new plenum will be installed utilizing the existing 36" x 120" ducts that connect to the existing paint booth plenum. The exterior faces of the new plenum will be covered with 2" thick rigid plenum liner. Install as per dwg. #121-003 - 4153-M3. Additional bracing and support will be specified on dwg #121 -003- -S . 7.) Place Clayton model #E0G -100 steam generator in the location specified on dwg #121 - 003 - 4053 -M2 on the pad specified on dwg #121 -003- -S Run an 18" burner exhaust vent to 36" above the roof. Use double wall construction for exhaust piping. Support as per dwg. #121 -003- -S . 8.) Provide connection to the existing 2 -1/2" domestic water line and run a 2" line to the steam generator connection as per dwg # 121 - 003 - 4053 -M1. Provide a 2" bronze body ball valve immediately after the new tie in. Piping should be run in type L hard drawn copper tubing with sweat connections to meet ASTM B251 -81 & B75 -81a, standard for copper tubing, and ANSI 16.22 -1980 standard for wrought copper solder fittings. Piping runs outside to the steam generator should be freeze protected. Before the final connection to the steam generator just outside of the wall penetration install a flexible coupling to allow the equipment pad to settle. Support vertical piping runs with Unistrut framing channel and one piece pipe clamps mounted to the wall in two locations spaced evenly along the pipe length. Label new piping "Domestic Water" at 20' intervals and on either side of a wall penetration. 9.) Increase the pipe size of the existing 1 -1/4" natural gas line to 2" as per dwg. #121- 003 - 4053 -M1. Support the enlarged horizontal pipe run along ceiling from the existing hanger locations unless the existing hangers are spaced greater than 10' apart or they are threaded only into sheet rock (which has been a problem in Whse "D "). Support the vertical pipe run with Unistrut framing channel and one piece pipe clamps mounted to the wall in two locations spaced evenly along the pipe length. Provide a new 2" connection and run a new 2" natural gas line to the Clayton steam generator. Provide a manual shut off cock immediately after tie in to the enlarged 2" line and just before the wall penetration. Reduce down to the original 1 -1/4" pipe size after the new 2" gas connection and reconnect to the existing 1 -1/4" line that services the gas burner in the make -up air handling unit. New piping will be run in sch 40 carbon steel with 150 lb. threaded connections to meet. ANSI B16.3 -1977 standard for malleable iron fittings (150 ib. & 300 lb.) and ASTM A120 -82 standard for seamless black pipe. Label new piping "Natural Gas" at 20' intervals and on either side of a wall penetration. 10.) Connection of the natural gas service will be made to the pilot and main pressure reducing valves provided by Clayton on the skid mounted unit. The final con- nection will be made with a right & left nipple and coupling. Provide a third manual shut off cock just before the pressure reducing valves. Install a flexible coupling after the manual cock before the right & left coupler to allow the equipment pad to settle. 11.) Run a 3" steam supply line from the raised face flange provided with the unit. After the initial flanged connection run line with standard weight, ASTM A53 -83 grade A seamless pipe, which meets ANSI B31.1 standard for pressure piping, with standard weight, carbon steel, ASTM A234 grade WPA butt weld fittings, which meets ANSI B16.4 standard for malleable fittings. Prior to the wall penetration install a flexible coupling to allow for equipment pad to settle. For steam pipe runs that are 2" and smaller use Sch. 40 carbon steel pipe with 150 lb.. threaded fittings (same standards apply). Cover the 3" steam supply line with 2" thick fiberglass pipe insulation and Zeston type pvc pipe covers and jacketing (use aluminum jacketing and covers in lieu of pvc for pipe runs outside). As per dwg. #121- 003 - 4053 -M2, support horizontal runs with Unistrut Framing Channel and model #P2474 rollers. Support the vertical pipe run with a Unistrut model #M5060 one piece pipe clamp located at the middle of the pipe run. Anchor the 3" steam line at the unit as per dwg #121 -003- -S . Label pipe "Medium Pressure Steam" at 20' intervals and on either side of a wall penetration. 12.) Mount the Armstrong Model BEM94 -M9(3) Humidifiers in the 112" x 39" supply air duct as per dwg. #121 -003- 4053 -M2. Install the humidifiers as close to the wall as possible so that the roller supports for the piping can be mounted off the wall. Support the humidifier separator bodies with 2" pipe clamps mounted within 6" of the separator inlet. Mount separator bodies as shown in detail 1 so that they are the lowest point in each humidifier set up. Slope horizontal runs at 1/4" per foot toward the low point. 13.) Provide a 1/2" drain leg with a Spirax -Sarco model TD- 52L thermodynamic type steam trap off the 3" steam supply line just prior to the 2" humidifier con- nections. Install (2) 3/4" drain legs with Armstrong Model 800 inverted bucket type steam trap off each separator body. Run a 1/2" condensate return line from the model TD -52L trap. Run 3/4" lines from the two inverted bucket traps increasing to 1" where the two 3/4" line converge. Increase the condensate return line to 2" where the 1/2" line merges with the 1" line and run 2" line to vented hotwell located on the skid mounted generator. Before the connection to the hotwell just outside of the wall penetration install a fexible coupling to allow the equipment pad.. to settle. All condensate lines will be Sch. 80 carbon steel pipe which conforms to ANSI B31.1 code for pressure piping. Use 300 lb. threaded fittings . which meet ANSI B16.3 -1977 standard. Provide isolation valves, 150 ib. iron body gate valve with bronze trim, rising stem, threaded union bonnet, and solid wedge, 300 lb. malleable iron, before each steam trap. Install a check valve, swing type with 125 lb. body and disc and threaded cap, after each trap. Support the horizontal condensate runs with Unistrut model #P2474 rollers. Install a single model #M5060 pipe clamp near the middle of the condensate return vertical run. Cover condensate piping with 2" fiberglass pipe insulation and Zeston pvc covers and jacketing (use aluminum jacketing and covers in lieu of pvc for pipe runs outside). Label pipe "Condensate Return" at 20' intervals and on either side of a wall penetration. 14.) Run the 3/4" drain line provided at the bottom of the 3" steam supply vertical riser to the 2" condensate return line. Use another Spirax -Sarco model TD -52L thermodynamic steam trap with isolation valves, unions, and check valves specified above in the drain line. Insulate pipe as other condensate return piping. 15.) Provide a 1 -1/2" drain line from the vented blowdown tank to the floor drain located under the emergency shower as per dwg. #121- 003 - 4503 -M2. Provide a flexible coupling in the drain line just outside the wall penetration to allow for the Stub end of drain line down into floor drain (same connector as for condensate return). Run line in Sch. 80 carbon steel pipe with 300 lb. threaded fittings. Provide pipe run with a 1/8" per foot grade. Cover pipe with 2" fiber- glass pipe insulation and Zeston pvc covers and jacketing (use aluminum jacketing and covers in lieu of pvc for pipe runs outside). Label pipe "Slowdown Tank Drain" at 20' intervals and on either side of a wall penetration. 16.) Tie into existing 8" sprinkler system cross main with a Victaulic style 920 mechanical tee. Run a 2" branch line to supply sprinkler coverage to (6) ordinary hazard (155 F) pendant sprinkler heads mounted underneath the new supply air plenum. Run sprinkler line in Sch. 40 carbon steel pipe conforming to ASTM A120 -82 standard for carbon steel seamless pipe.
