Building
Enclosed is the revised SEPA Environmental Checklist for the
Chemical Management Building at East Marginal Way Corporate
Park as requested by Denni Shefrin of your office. The
revisions are marked with an "R1" in the left column beside
any entry which has been changed.
Also enclosed you will find a revised site map showing
Riverton Creek and a list of chemicals on hand as of August
26, 1992 which would be stored at the new building. This list
is subject to change because of program addition /deletions but
the total quantities of Flammable, Corrosive and other
chemicals should not change appreciably.
It should be noted during your examination of the preliminary
floor plan that trucks with chemicals will only be unloaded
under the covered dock and any drains in this area will dead
end to a sump.
If you need further information or have any questions please

E. SUPPLEMENTAL SHEET FOR ALL PROJECT AND NON PROJECT
PROPOSALS
The objectives and the alternative means of reaching the
objectives for a proposal will be helpful in reviewing the
aforegoing items of the Environmental Checklist. This
information provides a general overall perspective of the
proposed action in the context of the environmental infor-
mation provided and the submitted plans, documents, suppor-
tive information, studies, etc.
1. What are the objective(s) of the proposal?
To provide a chemical management building for storage of hazardous
materials and consolidation of hazardous waste. The building will
eliminate the need to store large quantities of hazardous materials
throughout other buildings and will consolidate storage, tracking,
and management of hazardous materials within one building.
2. What are the alternative means of accomplishing these
objectives?
There are no other means of accomplishing this objective. The existing
method of storing hazardous materials throughout the site is inefficient
and outdated. New regulations require more stringent control of
hazardous materials and present storage capabilities within existing
buildings have diminished. A new building is required to store hazardous
materials,_provide a focal point for receiving hazardous materials,
distribute hazardous materials on an "as needed" basis and consolidate
hazardous waste.
3. Please compare the alternative means and indicate the
preferred course of action:
Alternative is to remain in the existing storage conditions. They do
not meet current fire codes and have no containment for a catastrophic
incident. The new building will be state of the art and meet or
exceed all codes.

E. SUPPLEMENTAL SHEET FOR ALL PROJECT AND NON PROJECT
PROPOSALS
The objectives and the alternative means of reaching the
objectives for a proposal will be helpful in reviewing the
aforegoing items of the Environmental Checklist. This
information provides a. general overall perspective of the
proposed action in the context of the environmental infor-
mation provided and the submitted plans, documents, suppor-
tive information, studies, etc.
New regulations require more stringent control of
hazardous materials and present storage capabilities within 'existing
buildings have diminished. A new building is required to store hazardous
materials, provide a focal point for receiving hazardous materials,
distribute hazardous materials on an "as needed" basis and consolidate
hazardous waste.
