A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF TUKWILA, WASHINGTON, FIXING THE TIME FOR A
PUBLIC HEARING FOR VACATION OF A PORTION OF
MAULE AVE. BOUNDED ON THE NORTH BY THE
NORTH LINE OF HILLMAN'S SEATTLE GARDEN
TRACTS AND BOUNDED ON THE SOUTH BY THE
NORTH MARGIN OF SO. 140TH STREET.
WHEREAS, the City has adopted an Interurban Ave. plan based on vacating Maule
Ave.; and
WHEREAS, Metro has plans to construct a pump station that is contingent with the
City's plan; and
WHEREAS, the City finds this vacation necessary to construct the planned
improvements; and
WHEREAS, the City Council finds that this vacation serves the public safety, health,
and welfare, and
WHEREAS, in accordance with RCW 35.79.010, the City Council will hold a public
hearing for the purpose of considering said petition for right -of -way vacation.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TUKWILA,
WASHINGTON, DO HEREBY RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. A public hearing upon the vacation of certain public right -of -way, as initiated
by the City Council of the City of Tukwila, generally described as that portion of Maule Ave., a
public street being 20 feet in width as dedicated in the Plat of Hillman's Seattle Garden Tracts,
recorded in Volume 11 of Plats on Page 24, records of King County, Washington, bounded on
the north by the north line of Hillman's Seattle Garden Tracts and bounded on the south by the
north margin of So. 140th Street (R/W No. 8), shall be held before the Tukwila City Council in
the City Council Chambers at Tukwila City Hall, 6200 Southcenter Blvd., Tukwila, Washington,
at 7:00 p.m. or as soon thereafter as the matter may be heard on June 8, 1992, which is not less
than twenty (20) nor more than sixty (60) days from the date of passage of this resolution, at
which time all persons interested in said right -of -way vacation are invited to appear and be
heard.
Section 2. The City Clerk is directed to post written notice of pendency of the public
hearing in three public places in the City of Tukwila and in one additional conspicuous place on
the right -of -way sought to be vacated at least twenty (20) days prior to the date set for hearing.
