Council President Duffie called the Tukwila City Council
Committee of the Whole Meeting to order and led the audience and
the Councilmembers in the Pledge of Allegiance.
MABEL J. HARRIS, JOE H. DUFFIE (COUNCIL PRESIDENT), EDGAR D. BAUCH,
WENDY A. MORGAN, CHARLES E. SIMPSON, MARILYN G. STOKNES, JAMES J.
MCKENNA.
Mayor Gary L. Van Dusen, Maxine Anderson (City Clerk), Ross
Earnst (City Engineer), Ted Freemire (Superintendent of Maintenance),
Jim Haney (City Attorney), Don Morrison (City Administrator),
Vern Umetsu (Associate Planner).
Mayor Van Dusen reported he was recommending the names of:
Kathleen C. Roberts reappointment to the Arts Commission, Pos. #1
John McFarland reappointment to the Sister City Committee, Pos. #6
Doug Gibbs reappointment to the Sister City Committee, Pos. #7
Mrs. Rudolf Regel reappointment to Board of Adjustment, Pos. #1
MOVED BY HARRIS, SECONDED BY MCKENNA, THAT THE REAPPOINTMENTS
BE ON THE AGENDA OF THE NEXT REGULAR MEETING OF THE COUNCIL.
MOTION CARRIED.
Don Morrison, City Administrator, reported that representatives
of Kent and Tukwila have met to consider a joint training
proposal for police and fire training.
Lori Penard, Segale, Inc., and speaking for the Tukwila Chamber
of Commerce stated they would like to see the amendment to
Andover Industrial Park Protective Covenants considered in
November brought forward and discussed again by the City Council.
Councilmember Morgan asked how many property owners would be
involved in the Andover Industrial Park area? Ms. Penard stated
the area comprises approximately 100 acres and involves 50 100
property owners.
Councilmember Morgan asked how many property owners have indicated
interest in changing the covenants? Ms. Penard stated 50% plus.
MOVED BY BAUCH, SECONDED BY SIMPSON, THAT THE MATTER OF THE
ANDOVER INDUSTRIAL PARK PROTECTIVE COVENANTS BE ON THE AGENDA
OF THE NEXT REGULAR MEETING OF THE COUNCIL.
Councilmembers stated they would like to see some rewording of
the resolution and also have it sent back to committee or to
another meeting of the Committee of the Whole.

HARRIS, MORGAN, SIMPSON, VOTING NO. MOTION CARRIED, FOUR TO THREE.

COMMITTEE OF THE WHOLE MEETING HELD DECEMBER 8, 1986 BE APPROVED
AS PUBLISHED. MOTION CARRIED.

Don Williams, Parks and Recreation Director, explained and showed
the proposed boundary adjustment with the projector.
MOVED BY MORGAN, SECONDED BY MCKENNA, THAT THE AUTHORIZATION FOR
THE MAYOR TO SIGN A BOUNDARY LINE ADJUSTMENT AGREEMENT BE ON THE
AGENDA OF A REGULAR MEETING OF THE COUNCIL WITH A LETTER BEING
SENT TO CONCERNED PARTIES THAT IT IS BEING CONSIDERED AT A CITY
COUNCIL MEETING. MOTION CARRIED.
MOVED BY BAUCH, SECONDED BY SIMPSON, THAT THE PROPOSED RESOLUTION
BE ON THE AGENDA OF A REGULAR MEETING OF THE COUNCIL. MOTION
CARRIED.
MOVED BY MORGAN, SECONDED BY HARRIS, THAT THE TUKWILA CITY COUNCIL
COMMITTEE OF THE WHOLE MEETING ADJOURN. MOTION CARRIED.
