1. Overall distance of travel through required pathway = 478' by scaled drawing.
With the use of existing exit door at West side of space, the travel distance remains >
200', (319' by scale). Need additional exit path or other means to reduce the travel
distance to within code requirements.
2. The one existing exit door at the West side of the existing tenant space, is
obstructed by a plywood door that is a portion of the false walls that make up the corridor
system. The sill plate of the partition needs to be eliminated, the exit light above this
door needs to be operational (lighted), the flush bolt on the back exit door must be
removed, and the exit sign light over this door needs to be made operational. In addition
all combustible materials ( paint products in particular) must be removed from the back
room area upon final inspection.
3. The "Haunted House" space plan creates corridors which would ordinarily fall
under the requirements of Chapter 10 of the building code. Since the space is not being
used as an uncontrolled use, the precise requirements of the code may not be applicable in
this instance. However, in order to consider the construction of the non rated corridor as
in compliance, the occupant load allowed within the facility at any one time, must remain
at less than 30 occupants.
