VALUATION OF CONSTRUCTION Valuation for new construction and additions are calculated by the Department of Community Development prior to application submittal. Contact the Permit Coordinator at 431 -3670 prior to submitting application. In all cases, a valuation amount should be entered by the applicant. This figure will be reviewed and is subject to possible revision by the Building Division to comply with current fee schedules. BUILDING OWNER / AUTHORIZED AGENT If the applicant is other than the owner, registered architect/engineer, or contractor licensed by the State of Washington, a notarized letter from the property owner authorizing the agent to submit this permit application and obtain the permit will be required as part of this submittal. EXPIRATION OF PLAN REVIEW Applications for which no permit is issued within 180 days following the date of application shall expire by limitations. Rants, Mayor February 10, 1994 Re: George Brazil Services - 11063 Pacific Highway South Dear Sir: The attached set of building plans have been reviewed by The Fire Prevention Bureau and are acceptable with the following concerns: 1. Install the following quantity of 2A, 10 B:C "All- Purpose" dry chemical fire extinguishers: (one) Maintain fire extinguisher coverage throughout. 2. No point in an unsprinklered building may be more than 150 feet from an exit, measured along the path of travel. (UBC 3303(d)) Exit doors shall be openable from the inside without the use of a key or any special knowledge or effort. Exit doors shall not be locked, chained, bolted, barred, latched or otherwise rendered unusable. All locking devices shall be of an approved type. (UFC 12.106(c)) Obstructions, including storage, shall not be placed in the required width of an exit, except projections as permitted by the Building Code. Exits shall not be obstructed in any manner and shall remain free of any material or matter where its presence would obstruct or render the exit hazardous. I have been contracted on behalf of Mr. Jim Gailey of George Brazil Services to provide the Tukwila Building Dept. with the drawings and information necessary to satisfy the requirements of this permit. To that end, let me respond point by point to those concerns expressed in your October 25, 1993 letterto Mr. Gailey. 1) Refer to the drawing shoot for these items. The overall building plan is shown at the scale of 118 "= 1' -0 ". The part of that building operated by George Brazil Services is outlined with a heavy dashed line. Fire egress doors are indicated with a dark triangle. 2) Also on the drawing are a plan and sectional elevation of the office addition at 114 " =V -0 ". The ceiling framing can be verified in either of two ways: 1) By visually examining the framing of the platform which is west of the office area whose exposed structure is visible from below (2x8's @ 16" o.c. hung between the lengthwise running 4x10 beams with LU 28 Simpson hangers) or 2) By visual examination of the ceiling structure as revealed by removing a sheet of 3/4" plywood from the top of the office. Otherwise, the location and method of attachment for the beams & columns is already exposed in the platform area west of the office. Since there are to be no superimposed loads on this structure due to the removal of equipment from the "roof' area, the existing structure should be adequete and foundation calculations unnecessary. INSULATION Since this office area will now be classified as "unheated ". the level of insulation may be irrelevant. However, it is my understanding that the office was given fiberglass batt insulated walls to R -11 and ceiling to R -19.
