PARKS COMMISSION
MINUTES
June 18, 2014 5:30pm Tukwila Community Center
Call to Order: Parks Committee Chairperson Sean Albert called the meeting to order at 5:37pm.
Attendance: Commissioners — Sean Albert, Alice Russell, Joanne McManus, Hassan Abdi
Absent - Don Scanlon, Julie Lee
Staff — Dave Johnson
Approval of Minutes: Joanne McManus moved to approve the Minutes of the May 21, 2014 meeting. Alice
Russell seconded the motion. The motion passed unanimously.
Business Items
A. Project Update —The Commission reviewed the Project Update included in the Agenda Packet.
B. DHP Phase 11 Design — Staff and Chair Sean Albert shared the information on the project included draft
design concepts and ideas.
C. Park Rules Update — Staff continues to work on language for the ordinance update. At the next meeting,
staff hopes to have draft language prepared for the Commission to review.
D. Department Update — Staff presented updates to the Commission on the Teen Summer Kickoff Festival,
FootGolf, Summer Day Camps, and the Park Supervisor position.
Adjournment: Joanne McManus moved to adjourn at 6:15pm. The motion was seconded by Hassan Abdi. The
motion passed unanimously.
