On January 26th at 17:02 hours Tukwila Police were dispatched to a "shots fired" call at
the Westfield Mall. Upon arrival, police identified and detained four subjects that were
involved in a fight inside of the mall. During the fight, one unknown subject fired a
single shot that struck one of the participants of the fight in the hand. The injury was a
superficial wound that was treated at the scene by aid personnel. No one else was
injured. A search of the parking lot outside of the north mall entrance allowed for the
discovery of a handgun that is believed to be involved with the incident. (The make and
model are not being disclosed at this time) The suspect has not been identified at this
time. The detained subjects are currently being interviewed by detectives. Further
updates will be released through a press release Tuesday morning, if there is additional
information.
