Staff provided an update on a plan to limit use of the parking lot at Foster Golf Links to golf
customers for periods of six hours or less beginning April 1, 2015 to coincide with golf season.
Public notice will be given via the following actions:
• Placement of advance warning A -frame signs in early March to educate lot users
• Distribution of advance warning fliers on non - recreational user vehicles in early
March
• Installation of six 12x18" signs stating: 6 -hour parking for recreational use only,
violators will be towed
• Violation notices will be issued as of April 1 with recording of date, car information
and license plate numbers
• Towing of vehicle upon third recorded violation.
Committee members and staff discussed the necessity of limiting parking at the Foster Golf Links
lot but acknowledged that Metro Transit riders are still facing the impacts of the closure of the
small park and ride annex on Interurban. Staff confirmed that King County Metro does not have
plans to renew or expand parking at the Interurban Ave S Park & Ride. Committee Chair Duffie
is also concerned about more street parking in the neighborhood that will also require
enforcement. This item was also presented by Parks & Recreation Staff at the February 23,
2015 Community Affairs & Parks Committee. INFORMATION ONLY.

IV. MISCELLANEOUS
Councilmember Ekberg serves on the Foster High Centennial Committee and inquired about the
possibility of using Tukwila Village site land for overflow parking for March 21, 2015 centennial
festivities. Staff will look into this possibility and report back.
Councilmember Hougardy noted that as of March 1 King County Metro is implementing a 25 cent fare
increase along with a new reduced fare program for riders at or below 200% of the federal poverty
level. Qualified riders can obtain an ORCA LIFT card from King County Metro.
