Ordinance No. 327 AN ORDINANCE amending Section 5 of Ordinance No. 223
of the Town of Tukwila.
BE IT ORDAINED by the Town Council of the Town of
Tukwila, as follows;
Section One. Section 5 of Ordinance No. 223 is hereby
amended to read as follows:
Section 5. PERMITS. Every person, firm or corporation
selling an oil burner, unit or equipment, which is to be installed
by them or their agent, used, stored or delivered within Tukwila,
shall secure an installation permit from the Tukwila Fire Department,
within forty -eight (48) hours after such sale, and shall report the
name and type of such burner, and the name and address of the pur-
chaser and installer.
It shall be unlawful to maintain or use, or cause to
be used or maintained, any oil burning equipment, or oil burner,
without complying with all provisions hereof relating to the maintenance
and use of oil burners and oil burning equipment, and it shall be
unlawful to install, alter or repair, or to begin the installation,
alteration or repair of any oil burner, oil burning equipment or
underground tank for the storage of flammable liquids where the cost
or expense or the estimated cost or expense of such installation,
alteration or repair, exceeds the sum of Seventy -Five ($75.00) Dollars,
without first obtaining from the Tukwila Fire Department a written
or printed permit to do so, and without complying with all provisions
hereof relating to the installation, alteration or repair of the same.
Permits as herein required shall be issued in accordance
with the following terms:
)a( Such permit shall be issued with a charge of no
more than Four ($4.00) dollars. Two ($2.00) Dollars for all oil
burners, Two ($2.00) Dollars for all oil storage tanks. Four ($4.00)
Dolllars for all Gas.Heating Permits, upon written application there
for by the owner or installer. In such application, such owner or
agent shall state the location of said premises, the name of the
owner, the name and address of the person who is to make installation,
alteration or repair, the type and make of burner, equipment or tank
to be installed, altered or repaired, and the use for which it is
intended.
)b( The Fire Inspector shall inspect all oil burners,
oil burning equipment and /or oil tanks installed, altered or repaired

pursuant to such permit, and if same comply with the provisions
of this ordinance, shall endorse his approval on such permit.
No such oil burner or oil burning equipment or tank shall continue
in use without such endorsement.
PASSED by the Town Council and APPROVED by the Mayor
