HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrd 0326 - Metered Water Rates (Repealed by Ord 1190)REPEALED BY Ord 1190 Amended by Ord 468 Ord 642 and Ord 914 ORDIJNANCE NO. 326 AN ORDINANCE amending Section 24 and Section 25 of Ordinance No. 264 of the Town of Tukwila. as follows: BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the Town of Tukwila Section 1. Section 24 of Ordinance No. 264 is hereby amended to read as follows: Section 24 water, supplied within part thereof, shall be Size of Service 3/4 inch 1 inch 12 inch 2 inch 3 inch 4 inch 6 inch 8 inch (a): WATER RATES. The rates for metered the Town of Tukwila, in one month or fractional in accordance with the following schedule: Quantity Allowed Minimum Charge 700 Cu. ft. or less 700 Cu. ft. or less 700 Cu. ft. or less 700 Cu. ft. or less 700 Cu. ft. or less 700 Cu. ft. or less 700 Cu. ft. or less 700 Cu. ft. or less h33.25 5.00 8.00 11.00 20.00 28.00 50.00 75.00 Each 100 cubic feet in excess of the quantities allowed for the foregoing minimum charges up to 10,000 cubic feet .16 Each 100 cubic feet from 10,000 to 50,000 cubic feet .13 Each 100 cubic feet in excess of 50,000 cubic feet .11 The rates due for water on the 3/4 inch meter or less are to be subject to a discount of twenty -five (25) cents if paid on or before the tenth (10th) day of the month in which they are payable. In computing meter rates, as provided above, results ending in one or two cents will be counted as "0 results ending in three, four, six or seven cents will be counted "5 results ending in eight or nine cents will be counted "10". Section 24 (b) FIRE PROTECTION. (a) Any service connection to the main for a sprinkler system shall be metered by a Detector Check Meter of approved type, at the expense of the owner, and fitted only with such fixtures as are needed for fire protection and must be entirely disconnected from those used for other purposes. (b) Any service connection other than sprinkler installed on private property for fire protection, and fitted with fire hydrants, stand pipes or other outlets for fire protection, shall be metered, at the expense of the owner, by a Detector Meter with a compound bypass of approved type that will measure all rates of flow. (c) It shall be unlawful for any person to fail, neglect or refuse to give the Superintendent or his duly authorized representative free access at all reasonable hours to all parts of premises supplied with water from the City's mains, for the purpose of inspecting the condition of pipes, and fixtures, and noting the amount of water being used and the manner in which it is used. (d) The rates for water supplied for fire protection purposes exclusively, shall be deemed service charges and shall be, for any one month or fractional part thereof, as follows: ATTEST: LOIS T. Section 2. Section 25 of Ordinance No. 264 is hereby amended to read as follows: Section 25. The rates for water supplied to consumers not within the Town limits shall be as follows: The same rate schedule as provided in Section 24 shall apply except for all water in excess of the minimum quantities allowed, sixteen (160 cent per hundred cubic feet shall be charged. The above rates to consumers outside the Town limits are subject to the same discount as the rates to m nsumers inside the Town limits, Provided: That nothing in this section shall prevent the Town Council from fixing other and different rates for the sale of water to water districts. Provided: That all meters, includ- ing master meters for water districts and all other meters for the Town limits or within the limits of easements, franchises or rights- of-way belonging to the Town.
