Remodel Proposal
Dear John:
Before a permit i. grantcd, .1 suggest that the following items
be resolved:
,Allied Stores' approval has not been obtained.
2. This store is traditionally overcrowded with stock.
The deletion of storage areas can only serve to
compound this problem. Aisle widths must be main-
tained at not less than 3 feet, 6 inches.
The service hallway is a designated emergency exit
and shall be posted as such. Storage in this area
is a violation of the Uniform Fire Code, Section
10.103 (a) & (e).
Full sprinkler protection to all areas shall be
maintained. Drawings for sprinkler modification shall
be approved by the Washingaton Survey and Rating Bureau,
then by the Tukwila Fire Department.
No storage is allowed within 36 inches of sprinkler heads.
Trim, accent lighting boxes and other add—on items may
in no way interfere with sprinkler head spray — patterns.

To confirm our conversation of October 31, 1973, the
Saiire Shop will use fire retardant coatings in areas where
required in'their new shop in South Center.
The following is the specification as approved by your office:
One coat of formula 130 Fire Foil Latex Fire
Retardant, followed by one or more coats of
C & C A -Plex Interior Flat Latex.
The Fire Foil Latex is a class "A" W. L. Laboratory rated
fired retardant coating with a flame spread of under 25.
C & C A -Plex Latex Flat is being used to attain the
decorative colors needed, as accent colors are not available
in fire retardant coatings. A -Plex is non - combustable and
will not have any detrimental effect on the performance of
the fire retardant coating underneath.
The painter has agreed to remove the labels from the cans of
the Fire Foil Latex and forward them to you for your records.
