Box 3977 Seattle, WA 98124 April 2, 1984 RE: BETH LINGER TRUST STRUCTURE AT 15439 53rd Ave. So. Gentlemen: A recent inspection of the above - mentioned premises revealed some serious problems. The front of the building appears to be settling, causing some separations between various components. The tenant has stated that this has . been a recurrent problem, and it now seems to be accelerating. I have attached a list of my findings during two inspections and recommen- dations for solving this problem. As these separations are quite pronounced, the danger of.the ceiling falling or a front window breaking is potential. I trust you will address this problem at an early date to prevent further damage occurring. You may expect my full cooperation and assistance in this matter. ely yours Lorraine Cronk Building Official SUBJECT: '` STRUCTURE LOCATED AT OCCUPIED 'BY HEATHKIT ELECTRONICS Visual Evidence of :Settling of Structure: Concrete walk under porch has cracked and settled between support columns.. 2. Column on northeast corner appears to be cracking apart from lack of support. 3. Metal window frame separating from brick structure, north end of building front. Ceiling.tile support frames pulling apart across to front of the building, with the most advanced at the north end. Recommendations: Structure be analyzed by structural engineer to obtain recommendations for. repair. I first inspected this structure on January 24, 1983 and again on March 23, 1984. Perceptible progress was seen in that short time, so it is suggested that this problem be addressed immediately. Any repairs to be made will require a. plan check review and a building permit.
