RE: Statement of roof weight for re- roofing Southcenter
Store and Distribution Center
The Southoenter. Store has a concrete deck and was designed
for an additional story to be added at a future date. The present
roof has. 400 pounds per roofing square of gravel. We will remove
300 pounds per roofing square of gravel. Application of two ply
asphalt roof would only replace 126. pounds per roofing square.
This re -roof will decrease the weight load on this store by 174
pounds per roofing square.
The Distribution Center also has 400 pounds per roofing square
of gravel. This roof is to be stripped and re- roofed. The weight .
on the structure would be considerably less because the new roof: ".:
is .a smooth maintenance type roof not gravel surfaced.
We are meeting.UBC requirements that no excess weight would
be added to either of these structures.
