M I N U T E S
Mayor Van Dusen called the Special Meeting of the Tukwila City
Council to order and led the Councilmember and audience in the
Pledge of Allegiance.
MABEL J. HARRIS, DORIS E. PHELPS, JOE H. DUFFIE (COUNCIL PRESIDENT),
WENDY A. MORGAN, CHARLES E. SIMPSON, MARILYN G. STOKNES.
Mayor Van Dusen presented Rick Beeler to the City Council as
Administration's selection for the position of Planning
Director.
MOVED BY HARRIS, SECONDED BY PHELPS, THAT THE APPOINTMENT OF
RICK BEELER TO THE POSITION OF PLANNING DIRECTOR BE APPROVED
BY THE CITY COUNCIL. MOTION CARRIED.
MOVED BY HARRIS, SECONDED BY MORGAN, THAT THE CITY COUNCIL APPROVE
THE SELECTION OF SHELDRUP CONSTRUCTION COMPANY AS THE CONTRACTOR
FOR THE 57TH AVENUE SOUTH RESIDENTIAL STREET IMPROVEMENT PROJECT.
MOTION CARRIED.
MOVED BY PHELPS, SECONDED BY SIMPSON, THAT THE COUNCIL APPROVE THE
ACCEPTANCE OF CRYSTAL SPRINGS PARK PHASE I AND FOSTER PARK PHASE I.
MOTION CARRIED.
MOVED BY HARRIS, SECONDED BY DUFFIE, THAT THE PROPOSED RESOLUTION
BE READ IN ITS ENTIRETY. MOTION CARRIED.
City Attorney Haney read a resolution of the City of Tukwila,
Washington expressing sincere thanks to Doris E. Phelps,
Councilmember in its entirety.
MOVED BY HARRIS, SECONDED BY DUFFIE, THAT THE PROPOSED RESOLUTION
BE ACCEPTED AS READ—*
Councilmember Harris stated the resolution should read "seven
years of dedicated service" rather than "six years" as stated.
MOTION CARRIED, AS CORRECTED.
MOVED BY HARRIS, SECONDED BY DUFFIE, THAT THE TUKWILA CITY
COUNCIL SPECIAL MEETING ADJOURN. MOTION CARRIED.
