HomeMy WebLinkAboutReg 2015-04-06 Item 3B.3 - Proclamation - Earth Day - April 22WHEREAS, a healthy environment through recycling, waste reduction and thoughtful use of resources is the foundation of a good society and is critical to the future of Tukwila and the world at large; and WHEREAS, Tukwila can help to preserve environmental integrity and can help build a healthier society by addressing issues such as transportation alternatives, energy usage and waste prevention; and WHEREAS, Tukwila is a part of the Puget Sound region that prides itself on the beauty of its landscape and clean waters; and WHEREAS, Tukwila can help promote positive public land management protecting its resources for the future enjoyment of its citizens; and WHEREAS, Earth Day offers citizens and governments alike an opportunity to work toward building a healthier and cleaner environment; NOW THEREFORE, I, Jim Haggerton, Mayor of the City of Tukwila, do hereby proclaim April 22, 2015: Earth Day in the City of Tukwila and encourage all citizens to join me in recognizing this special observance.
