The purpose of this Council Work Session was to plan and align expectations for a future Council -
sponsored Town Hall meeting. Council President Kruller noted that Councilmembers had
previously expressed support for holding Town Hall meetings and she called this meeting in order
to have an open discussion regarding format and logistics. The following key points emerged
from the discussion:
• Plan one Town Hall meeting in late spring, keep it simple and general
Consider additional meetings later in the year with adjustments as needed
Consider logistics relating to accessibility, such as translation services
State and adhere to designated time frame
• Establish and state ground rules
• Avoid duplicating efforts with other city outreach events
• Design an agenda that includes a social component, a topic component, and a general forum
component.
• Build in system for follow -up
