Meeting Minutes
May 27, 2015 — 5:30 p.m. — Foster Conference Room, 6300 Building

CALL TO ORDER: Committee Chair Robertson called the meeting to order at 5:30 p.m.
I. PRESENTATIONS
Committee members were introduced to Ken Johnsen of Shiels Obletz Johnsen, Inc.
11. BUSINESS AGENDA
A. Side Sewer Repair at 14139 56th Avenue S.
In April 2015 staff discovered a break in the side sewer between the house and the sewer main
at 14139 56th Avenue South. Of five contractors contacted, R.L. Alia provided the City the lowest
quote at $16,411.86. Construction of the repair commenced on April 18th and is now complete.
During the repair it was discovered that the possible cause of the sewer break was the installation
of a city -owned storm line in 1979 and therefore it is the City's financial responsibility. Funds are
available from the 2015 Annual Sewer Repair Program. INFORMATION ONLY.
III. MISCELLANEOUS
Statewide Drought Declaration
Committee members and staff discussed the Seattle Public Utilities and Cascade Water
Resource Management Response to Statewide Drought Declaration, dated May 2015. While the
State declared a statewide drought, the Puget Sound Region and specifically Seattle and
Cascade Water Alliance's water supplies are in good shape and Seattle has been storing
additional water for the summer demand. INFORMATION ONLY.
