HomeMy WebLinkAboutRes 1217 - Salary Philosophy for Non-Represented Employee Salary Schedule (Repealed by Res 1272) 1906 CITY OF TUKWILA WASHINGTON RESOLUTION NO. 1217 Amended by Res 1241 Repealed by Res 1272 Ir e 4 NO C A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TUKWILA, WASHINGTON, ESTABLISHING A SALARY JY7�L PHILOSOPHY RELATING TO THE NON REPRESENTED EMPLOYEES' SALARY SCHEDULE AS CONTAINED IN RESOLUTION NO. 1164. WHEREAS, the City Council has reviewed the non represented employees' salary schedule steps, the merit award element of the schedule, and cost -of- living index factors; WHEREAS, the City Council desires to establish specific guidelines with relation to these aspects of the non represented wages and wage schedule in order to be consistent with the City's overall compensation policy; NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TUKWILA, WASHINGTON, DO HEREBY RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Salary Stevs. The salary schedule for non represented employees shall contain six steps, with the first step 25% below the control point (top step). Section 2. Merit Award. The 0 -10% merit award step shall be eliminated from the salary plan effective December 31, 1992. Section 3. Cost -of- Living. The Annual cost -of- living increase applied to the non- represented salary schedule effective on January 1, 1993, shall be 90% of the CPI -W, Seattle /Tacoma index, July -July, with a minimum of 2% and maximum of 8 Section 4. Waze Analvsis. Every three years, beginning in the Spring of 1993, the City shall hire a consultant to conduct a wage analysis for the purpose of bringing the non- represented wages into compliance with the City's compensation policy. The consultant shall be selected by the Mayor and Council, and shall report directly to them.
