Tuesday — February 4, 2014 — Tukwila Community Center — 7:00pm
Attendance: Sharon Kidd, Linda McLeod, Steve Miller, Marie Parrish, Gerie Ventura
Staff. Stephanie Gardner (Tukwila Parks), Darth Nielsen (KCLS), John Sheller (KCLS)
Treasurer's Report
Steve reported that he picked up checks on January 9 for Somali storytime, Halloween expenses /candy, and Teen
bookclub. The current balance in the Friends account is $3,104.34.
Business Items
1. The volunteer Teen Advisory group wants to do a read -a -thon at the Foster Library with "celebrity" readers. John
asked that one of us visit the group and gather details about their ideas.
2. KCLS has procured the permits to startibuild the new library but it needs infrastructure planning first. The library
will do its work with the building and SHAG will do its part.
3. Marie asked if we had submitted the pledged $750.00 and Steve said yes, on February 20, 2013.
4. Marie moved that we pledge another $1,000 and pay the KCLS Foundation the $250.00 out of the original
pledged amount. It was noted that we still have 2 years to raise this. John will tell the foundation about this idea.
5. Discussed the ongoing Friends Book Sale in the Foster branch.
Adjournment: It was moved by Marie to adjourn the meeting and seconded by Linda and the meeting was adjourned.
