PARKS & RECREATION MINUTES
August 19, 2015 5:30pm Tukwila Community Center
Call to Order: Chairperson Sean Albert called the meeting to order at 5:30pm.
Attendance: Commissioners — Sean Albert, Don Scanlon, Mike Martin, Joanne McManus, Alice Russell
Staff — Dave Johnson, Robert Eaton
Guests — Moira Bradshaw (Community Development), Chris Flores (Fire)
Presentation: Moira Bradshaw and Chris Flores provided an update to the Commission on the progress of the
City's Regional Fire Authority Annexation Investigation and answered questions from the Commissioners.
Approval of Minutes: Mike Martin moved to approve the minutes of the June 17, 2015 meeting. Don Scanlon
seconded the motion. The motion passed unanimously.
Business Items
A. Park Watch Program — Staff provided an update to the Commission on the Park Watch Program. There
were over 750 participants at the events, of which 165 shared their contact information for follow -up.
The neighbors are generally pleased with eh maintenance and cleanliness of the residential parks. They
also provided a number of ideas and suggestions for improving neighborhood parks.
