HomeMy WebLinkAbout1925-08-13 Regular MinutesThe regular monthly meeting of the Council of The Town of Tukwila was called to order by the Mayor on the above date at 8:00 P. M. with Mayor G. C. Bergquikt and Councilmen Fred Nord, A. G. Berg, G. M. Harrison, J. R. Naylor and J. A. Kunz present. as read. BILLS The following bills were read, approved by the Finance Committee and on motion regularly seconded and carried, were ordered paid. COMMUNICATIONS The regular monthly report of the Town Treasurer was read and approved. A letter From the State Auditor, C. W. Clausen, was read asking that $40.00 be included in the 1926 budget to cov- er examination of the General Accounts of the town. The clerk was instructed to hold for action later. COMMITTEE REPORTS Mr. Harrison, Street Committee, reported authorized work completed as follows: Sandbox at Main Street Repaired. Grass on Main Street cut. UNFINISHED BUSINESS Mr. Harrison reported that the Puget Sound Power and Light Company had not yet repaired the track crossing at the alley facing the bluff. Clerk instructed to take the matter up with them again. NEW BUSINESS Minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved Current Expense Fund Tulwila, Wash., August 13, 1925. H. Seattle 36.00 p 99.52 Repairing crossing drain and sidewalk at Tukwila Avenue and Main Street completed. Mr. Naylor reported the viaduct on Hillman Blvd in need of repairs, railing broken, etcetera. After a discussion Page 2 August 13th 1925. a motion was made, seconded and carried authorizing thesup- erintendant of streets to repair same. The matter was brought up as to the advisability of purchasing and storing lumber and drain tile to avoid the large cartage charges on small deliveries. A motion was made, secon- ded and carried appropriating 425.00 for the purchase of lumber and $15.00 for the purchase of drain tile and authorizing the Supertendant of Streets to purchase same at his discretion. The condition of the various street drains was dis- cussed and a motion was made, seconded and carried authorizing the Supertendant of Streets to have all street drains examined and cleaned. Mr. Kunz reported Kenney Blvd. as in poor condition and badly rutted. Matter referred to the Street Committee for investigation. The matter of the various Town properties as well a s the condition of the Town Storehouse was discussed. A motion was made, seconded and carried instructing the Street Committee to investigate the condition of the storehouse, make an invento- ry of Town property and report whether or not the storehouse will be satisfactory for the storage of town properties. Mr. Harrison reported that the Upper end of Main Street was rough and bumpy and in need of repairs. After a discussion it was agreed that members of the Council meet at the home of Mr. Kunz, Sunday, August 23d, at 10:00 A.
