Mayor Berquist stated that he had visited Mr. Crawford of
the Puget Sound Power and Light Company relative to placing on their polef
markers for the various streets and that the letter received from them waf
in answer to his visit. His suggestion would be that we have signs made i
1 "x4" lumber, painted and the street name stenciled on them; these to be
placed on the various street corners and also that entrance signs be place
on the highway noting the corporate limits, showing the town name and
giving the speed limit while driving through the town.
The matter of speeding on the highway was discussed and ,a
motion was made, seconded, and carried authorizing the Superintendent of
Streets to have proper signs made and placed at each end of the town on
the highway to mark the corporate limits and noting the speed limit. On
further discussion it was agreed to hold up action on this until the cost
of ornamental signs equipped with lights could be ascertained. Mayor
Berquist agreed to look into the matter.
