The regular monthly meeting of the Council of the
Town of Tukwila was called to order by the Mayor on the above
date at 8:00 P. M. Present were Mayor G. C. Bergquist, and
Councilmen Fred Nord, A. G. Berg, G. V. Harrison and J. A.
Kunz; Councilman J. R. Nayor being absent.
Minutes of the last regular and special meetings
were read by the Clerk and approved as read.
BILLS
The following bills were read by the clerk and after
being approved by the Finance Committee, it was regularly moved,
seconded and carried that they be paid and warrants drawn for
the respective mounts.

COMMUNICATIONS
The regular monthly report of the Town Treasurer
and approved as read.
Certificate from the County A4sessor giving the
valuation of the Town of Tukwila as 4186,900.00 was
ordered placed on file.
Letter from the Puget Sound Railway Company relative
to the erossing at the alley facing the bluff was read and
referred to unfinished business.
REPORTS OF COMMITTEES
Street Committee Mr. Harrison.
All authorized work finished except drain on Kenney
Boulevard. This not finished as workmen believed they did
not have the authority to break driveways now existant

The Mayor stated that this meeting was also an ad-
journed session of the special meeting on October 5th and if
anyone present wished to protest against any of the items on
the proposed budget to do so. After some discussion a motion
was made seconded and carried increasing the Street Fund to
$1930.00

Ordinance No. 107 fixing the bu4get for the year 1926
was read by the Clerk. Moved and seconded that Ordinance No.
107 be adopted. Motion Carried.
The matter of the crossing at the Alley facing the
bluff was discussed and referred to the Street Committee for
investigation.
Mayor Bergquist reported that light standards to be
placed on the Highway at the Town limits would cost §250.00 for
eonerete or 6.00 for wood. This being deemed to expensive
the matter was indefinitely postponed.

meeting was discussed but in as much as this is fully covered
by ordinance it was regularly moved, seconded and carried that
it be dropped.

Speeding on the Pacific Highway was It was suggested
that possibly the Auto Club would install signs at the Town
Limits stating the speed limit through the Town. Mayor Berg-
quist will investigate the matter further.
NEW BUSINESS
The condition of the drains under the Pacific Highway
was brought up and discussed. The Clerk was instructed to
write a letter to the Highway Commissioner calling attention to
the broken drain at the northwest end of Tukwila just inside
the Town limits and at the west end of the Pacific Highway.
The matter of cutting through private driveways in
order to clear street drains was discussed and it being deemed
that the street committee had authority open up drains where
ever necessary, on motion regularly seconded and carried the
Clerk was instructed to notify the property owners interested.
Further discussion brought out that there was no ord-
inance regulating the construction, size, etc., of such drains.
Ordinance No. 108 providing for rep of constructing and
the construction of driveways within the Town of Tukwila was
read by the Clerk, once in full and twice by title. Moved and
seconded that Ordinance No. 108 be adopted. Motion carried.
Mr. Gade appeared before the Council regarding the
light on Bluff Street, asking relief from the present condition.
Clerk instructed to write the Puget Sound Power Light Company
again.
The Puget Sound Power Light Co's. present charge s
for street lighting was discussed. Mayor Bergquist stated that
they would write an explanation of the present charges.
The matter of bicycle riding on sidewalks was dis-
cussed and ordinance read covering. Such oases are to be ref
ferred to the Town Marshall.

Mr. Harrison, Street Committee, stated that while the
grossing at the Highway and Main Street was repaired some mater-
ial was needed for filling, and suggested filling with rock in
stead of gravel. Also suggested additional fills on the Flat.
Motion made, seconded and carried authorizing Mr.
Harrison to purchase two yards gravel, four yards crushed rock
and three loads of cinders for use as outlined.

A vote of thanks was given Mr. E. E. Lutz for services
the present meeting.
